I'm just wonder if Cat had said, he thought we should draft Ming if everone would be so upset about him trying to be the GM or telling him to shut up and let Rudy and CD handle the draft. If my memory serves me correctly, it seems like people were happy when it seemed he had originally praised drafting Ming. Just wondering.
Saying you want a player from the draft - whether it be Ming or Butler or whatever - is really no big deal. It doesn't affect the front office. Saying that you really want a certain trade and don't want to have to rebuild more with Ming is a different story. If the other team knows that your team really wants their player, you lose leverage. If the players publicly say they'll be pissed with a certain pick, you lose leverage.
