Why do some people imply that there was bad blood between them to begin with? One quote about how the playoff roster hasn't been completed yet? Come on. Cato came off the IL played 1 or 2 games and then sat out the rest of the season. I really think some of you guys are trying to turn nothing into something.
people jumped to all kinds of crazy conclusions. I was also thinking that JVG was resting Cato and maybe playing some mind games with PJackson.. anyways im glad to hear all is well in Rox land.. J
First, that's great news. I'm glad to hear they're working it out. Second, it blows my mind that everybody's so intent on saying there was nothing to this and/or that it was probably injuries. It's not from one story about Cato maybe not making the roster; it's from one story in which JVG said Cato sitting out was NOT injury related and that he preferred to keep the matter "internal." I don't know what room4rent means by crazy conclusions. What's crazy is JVG clearly stating it was not injury related and everybody reacting by saying, well, it's probably injury related. And there's been nothing crazier said about this than the flat stupid idea that this is JVG playing mind games with PJ or the media. I mean, come on. That's just dumb. Further, to room4rent, I didn't see anyone come to any conclusion at all except that something was at issue. It was. JVG clearly implied as much and the home and away broadcasters alluded to Cato being in the doghouse. The story about him maybe not making the roster was just the latest. It really is amazing. Here's a board where Mo tests positive for anti-inflammatories and everybody thinks he's a junkie and wants to waive him and yet, when there is a real personnel issue everybody's inclined to underreact. What's up with that?
I want this to be one of those playoff serieses that turns out like a really cool, smart, action movie; where we use our sack of chicannery along with our basketball skills to befuddle Shaq and crew.
I remember the paper saying Cato was the only starter to rest not due to injury, but I've honestly not seen any quote attributed to JVG. Personally, I'm guessing JVG didn't want to go in with just 9 guys suited up. Are you telling me you believe Cat & Steve actually were too hurt to play those last two games? Don't believe everything you read, and certainly it's not a good idea to put words into people's mouths.
I didn't put words in anyone's mouth. It was in the Chronicle. "Not injury related," prefer to keep it "internal." But whatever. I'm obviously pretty much the only one interested in this issue. I always have been because Cato's rarely played to his potential and I've always thought it had to do with depression. So when this happened, at a time when we really need him and when it was clear this was not an injury deal (I don't know how to prove this to you guys except to show you the article. If you'd prefer to think the Chronicle or VG was lying, so be it), it worried me. If the rest of you think there's "nothing to see here" that's fine. I've spent enough time trying to convince you otherwise and, anyway, really, I hope you're right.

Batman look maybe people didnt jump to all kinds of crazy conclusions in this thread but if you actually look around at some other threads there are all kinds speculations and somewhat crazy conclusions going around. I guess im just not the type to assume the worst about a player .. well again Cato is healthy and playing and im happy! J
Cato said on 610 that JVG told him the reason and that they are "cool" now. When they asked what that reason was Cato said that it was staying between them. (Not exact quotes)
