Missed the game last night. I figure one of two things happened:

    A) Cato got a clean block on Malone and the Jazz are just being crybabies again.

    B) Cato clobbered Malone and got away with a no-call

I know that both of these scenarios are possible, but I can't find a video clip of the shot anywhere.

So, which one was it? (be honest!)

(BTW - I have no sympathy for the Jazzholes in ether scenario)

    Thanks,

    droxford

Being a "superstar", Malone should have gotten a foul call...Jordan would have! It did look like a pretty clean block, though.

    I HATE THE UTAH JAZZ!!!

(maybe we could pick up Ostertag for cheap)

    :D

    Nah,

If it wasn't called a foul, then it wasn't a foul.

    :D

After watching the replay about 5 times, the block looked clean, but it could have gone either way.
Looked more like Malone trying to draw a foul with one of his famous flops. ;)

From my seat in the upper deck, right over the basket, it appeared to be clean. Malone looked like he was doing his typical play where the guy blocks the ball, but Malone flails his arms out so it looks like he got fouled.

Don Chaney was quoted today as saying Karl Malone's been an extremely dirty player his entire career and has been getting away with all these little things for years. OK, so no great observation on Chaney's part, but I'd like to shake the man's hand.

Beating the Jazzholes is great, but hearing them cry about the refs makes it even better!! This is the second time in a row we've beaten them and they've cried about the refs both times. I love it!!!

For the Jazz to complain about calls is comparable to Osama complaining about why the U.S. is looking for him. The only guys on that team I respect is Stockton and Marshall all the rest are a bunch of hypocritical whining floppers.

Man I was torn between a beneficial loss to get some extra ping pong balls or a blow to the Jazz's playoff hopes. Had it been any other team and I would have wanted a loss...... but man it feels great to beat Utah!

I definitly think is was a clean block. Cato's hand was on top of the ball and he pushed it right back down on Crybaby's head. That just about made my whole year. I can now look back on this year and say we did to the Jazz what they seem to always do to us. It was great!!!!!!!

Can you believe Sloan complaining after the game about not getting that call???? Hey Sloan, you've got nothing to whine about. Crybaby Malone got away with the biggest bear hug on Drexler when they knocked us out of the playoffs a few years ago. I think I am still hoarse from yelling at the refs on that play.

So these three baseball umpires are talking.

The rookie umpire says, "I guess I'll call them as I see them, that should be ok."

The second more senior ump says "They are what I call them."

The grizzley veteran ump then says "They ain't nothing until I call them".

So droxford, what was the question?

I agree with OT...the block was clean. Malone just didnt like the taste of the ball when Cato shoved it down his throat AFTER he cleanly blocked the shot. Malone is a crybaby and this time it cost his team the game. Aint life grand??? :D

It was much cleaner than some of the blocks Hakeem used to get away with, or even some of the flops that Malone & Stockton used to get away with.

I remember one particular Malone block on Bullard, perhaps his second year in the league. He basically threw bull into the first row of seats, and started struting around like he was the best shot blocker ever.

Well Stockton might not be hypocritical, but he is still the biggest flopper out of all of em.

The funniest part was Malone's quote: "This is all I'm saying and this is all I'm going to say -- as an athlete, you want to have the outcome of the ballgame (in your control). That's what you were trained for, that's what you work for and that's all you expect."

This is his complaint for getting a technical foul for complaining about a non-call? If he wants the players (and not the refs) to decide the outcome of the game, why should he be crying for a foul?

He's a flopper but not even in the same league as Malone or Russell. You have to keep in mind that Stockton is a little guy so he gets pushed around a lot. I still don't like the guy, but I sure as hell respect him. He's the kind of guy I want on my team, a tough little SOB, and smart too. If Steve was 1/2 as smart as him we would be a playoff team right now.

Usually experience makes players smarter. How old is Stockton?

RocketFanFever nailed it...it did not matter anyway!

but, I watched the replay 10 times or so and it was very clean, no doubt and I am sure Sloan shut his piehole after watching on the plane to Memphis. Malone does usually get that call, because he flails and acts like a 280 man can be thwarted to the ground that easily. but, it was a clean block no doubt and a nice defensive play by CATO.

True he is as experienced as they come but he was a much more intelligent player in his third season than Steve is today. Not saying Steve is dumb or anything but he certainly doesn't know how to run an offense either.
