Hey guys, why didnt Cato and Pike play tonight? Can someone fill me in, I may find out why first but have yet to see anything.
Cato sprained his foot during practice. Pike just doesn't play well recently. well, the wildest guess could be...they are traded? Rumor says Rasheed is not playing because of the phyical exam he's going to take for the trade with the Mavs...
Jamison is playing tonight. Coaches don't play players right before they are traded for fear of injury.
Well, if you've noticed Moochie Norris hasn't played in 2 games. He went off for 3 games, and Frank Williams has returned to the lineup as the backup PG. Frank was out for 3 games with injury
I hate to addmit it, but the people in this tread talking about a trade might be up to something, i wish they wouldn't trade Cato or Boki, but i don't care about pike, if he gets traded that would be okay since he isn't shooting goon right now.
How about this trade? Houston gets: Josh Howard (SG/SF) Eduardo Najera (PF) Shawn Bradley (C) Travis Best (PG) Dallas gets: Kelvin Cato (C) Boki Nachbar (SF) Adrian Griffin (SF/SG) ROCKETS SF: Jackson, Piatkowski, Padgett PF: Taylor, Najera, Weatherspoon C: Yao, Bradley PG: Francis, Best, Wilks SG: Mobley, Howard MAVERICKS SF: Walker, Jamison, Nachbar PF: Nowitzki, Fortson C: Cato, N'Diaye PG: Nash, Delk, SG: Finley, Griffin,Daniels, Wahad Dallas gets help on defense with Cato and Griffin while keeping Jamison as their 6th man. Houston gets a young swingman in Howard, a back up C in Bradley, a hustling scrapper in Najera and a playoff tested point guard in Travis Best.
Assuming it works capwise, Dallas would laugh at us. They cut Griffin to give the roster spot to Howard. For all of his gawky, soft play, Bradley's numbers are similar to Cato's. They got plenty of SF's, why do they need one that can't get playing time here? On the Rox side, Best isn't better than Mark Jackson and the'd have to decide which to protect, Bradley or Najera, in the expansion draft.
This works & I like it ! : Houston trades: SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.4 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 11.6 minutes) C Kelvin Cato (6.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 28.9 minutes) Houston receives: PG Tony Delk (6.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 16.3 minutes) SF Eduardo Najera (3.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.4 apg in 13.7 minutes) C Shawn Bradley (3.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.2 apg in 10.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: +3.3 ppg, -2.6 rpg, and -0.3 apg. Dallas trades: PG Tony Delk (6.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 16.3 minutes) SF Eduardo Najera (3.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.4 apg in 13.7 minutes) C Shawn Bradley (3.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.2 apg in 10.2 minutes) Dallas receives: SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.4 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 25 games) C Kelvin Cato (6.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 37 games) Change in team outlook: -3.3 ppg, +2.6 rpg, and +0.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED JUST Do IT !
Not this season Points: Cato 6.3 > Bradley 3.1 Rebounds: Cato 8.3 > Bradley 2.0 Blocks: Cato 1.81 > Bradley 0.92 Minutes: Cato 28.9 > Bradley 10.2
Why the hell do we want to trade Cato to a divisional rival? Kelvin is exactly what Dallas needs, a banger, shot-blocker, and rebounder. They wouldn't need any scoring from him at all. And why the hell do we want Bradley, Najera, and their bad contracts? The Mavs are not doing too good right now, but the Rockets shouldn't help them out. I'm not against trading Cato eventually because of his contract, but we have to get something valuable in return, i.e. a banger PF to play alongside Yao.
