Ok here is the problem.. If I have a car in my driveway at night a cat will get on the car and walk around, I'm an animal lover and all, but if I have guests or have my woman parks there overnight there will be TONS of cat prints all over the hood and roof of the car.. I think the cat is sleeping on the car or having sex on it cause there are sure TONS of these prints the next day.. Everyone that lives around me says the same thing, they dont know who the cat belongs to.. I don’t want to hurt the cat or call pound on it, because I know it will be put to death.

Does anyone know of things I can leave out on the driveway or car overnight to keep it off the damn cars? I have never had cats and I have know idea what they hate.. I never seem to be able to catch the cat on the cars even if I go out in the middle of the night.. I have turned the alarm up all the way on the my girlfriends car to see if that would scare it off, but the damn cat never sets it off..

    Any ideas or ticks?

I had to put my dog down almost a year ago, if he was still with me I'm sure he would have done the job for me..

Well, Da-Glyde, there's any number of things I could do. But, I can promise you this, though, this vicious beast will never bother you again. So, what's it going to be?

The alarm is not a bad idea, but it's probably not sensitive enough to know the cat is there, however if you have a panic button you could peak out the window and push it when you see the cat on the hood. I'm sure that would scare the hell out of it. I was eating at a fast food restaurant looking out the window when some lady had the nerve to set her drinks and food order on the hood of my car. I pushed the panic button from inside the restaurant and she thought she set off my alarm and scrambled to pick up her stuff and run off as quick as possible. However, my friends and I got a kick out of it. :D

Put some aluminum foil on top of the car during the night. Cats don't like the feel of it. After it gets up there it may decide it doesn't like it anymore and stop. Foil worked for me when one of my cats kept climbing a book shelf. I put it up there for a couple of days and she quit climbing it.

There are other things that cats don't like but my mind is a complete blank right now.

Once you figure out what time of night the cats are getting on your car, rig up a sprinkler to come on soon after that time. Or, wait out there yourself with a hose and spray the cat once it jumps up there. Cats hate water, so that would be a good, non-harmful way of deterring it.

Get some tape or post-it notes the color of your car. Put them where the cat prints are, sticky side up. Wait, video tape, and enjoy.

BTW - What do you think is going to happen when that alarm goes off and that dumb ass cat digs those claws in for take off? If you've ever seen a cat (or dog) try to run on something slick I think you can imagine what your hood would look like after launch.

This is really normal cat behavior. I don't know why, but I know that it happens even with cats that have been fixed, so I don't think that it's necessarily having an orgy on your car. Also, cats having sex sounds like cats fighting, so you'd probably notice that.

If your a good human being and don't want to hurt the cat, they sell powdered extract of fox & coyote urine at decent garden stores. You just put a ring of the powder around your car and it'll scare the cat away as those are natural predators of cats.

    Here is one example.

    Here is another.

Most cats don't like citrus, so spraying the car with orangey stuff might work.
Or you can have sex on top of the car at the same time, I do that to show my cat that the bed is occupied and he usually stays off it during my time.

Or you could take them to the SPCA where they might be adopted. Or you could not cage what may be your neighbor's cats.

Perhaps something a little more humane because, God forbid you might get a pawprint on your car hood. I mean, that dirt will NEVER come off.
