i would like for him to come back to the Rockets if it was for the minimum just because Cat was one of my favorite players in his time here.

You seriously want to have the probability of him dying on our team? The guy has a serious heart problem, you realize that right? Best thing the NBA can do is forbid him to play competitive basketball.

If he's going to foolishly put his life at risk, by resuming his career, I'd rather he do it somewhere else.

Yeah and that is why he has been retired for a while. Basketball is not worth dying for. I am sure his family and friends would like to have him in their lives for a long time as oppose to watching him going back to the court and running a high risk of serious complications.

of course i know about his health problems, he has had it for years even when playing here in Houston. i think the knicks wanted his expiring contract more than anything else and made out with some insurance money at it making it a bigger deal than it was and Cat took a break from the NBA.

i am sure he isnt a fool himself he probably has consulted doctors about the possibility of playing and any conditions/limits on him.

he will probably be at best a 5-10 minute guy and would give it his all in those 5-10 minutes i always want a guy like that on my team.

you can call him a fool or not want him but i am gonna root for him if he does come back to the NBA regardless of what team he plays for (unless its the jazz)

There are reports Steve Francis might be going to China (and possibly play for the team Yao Ming is running). Maybe if this NBA thing doesn't work out, Cat can join his buddy in China and put his life at risk for true love.

Is there a spot for him on this squad? We seem to be deep at every position.

I wouldn't mind seeing the return of a Francis/Cat backcourt at all. Even if its in China.

    Don't do it.
Cat is 35, no need to try and play again.
HCM isn't something to mess around with, though I don't know the severity of his situation. Maybe he knows something we don't?

Has there ever been a guy in his 30s that has come back after a two year layoff? I doubt you see Cat playing in the NBA again, he can probably dominate in China but his playing days are over in the NBA.

His problem gets worse over time, and physical exertion only hastens the inevitable.
