Go to Rockets.com and on the bottom right there is streaming video of an interview with Cat. "I watched him at the Worlds and he looked great. He got pushed around alittle bit, but he's so big and so talented, we're going to have some fun with him, and he's going to be a big part of our success." It is great to hear that Cat and Steve both are excited to have Yao. I guess Cuttino must have changed his mind after seeing Ming play. I think he also said that he has a good shot. I think that the Rockets will gel together next season and make the playoffs.
I saw that earlier. Interesting that he said Ming's name right. His first name is Ming and last Yao, i.e. Ming Yao.
It is quite rude to call him Ming Yao,(or Ming or Yao, unless you are a personal friend) The correct way to speak or write of him is to use both names 'Yao Ming'.I feel sure that Cat didn't know any better, just like myself in the early times.I cosulted my Chinese family to obtain the correct format!
I don't really care what Cat or Francis SAYS about Ming. All I care is that they pass him the damn ball!
That clip of Cuttino is hilarious. Especially at the end, when he is talking about the Rockets playoff aspirations and he cracks the always popular joke from the old-school Sir Charles commercial to the media; " Certainly we want to be in the playoffs. Anything less would be uncivilized". Ok, its funnier watching the actual clip!
Lets see, first they get ripped for not coming out and praising Ming, now they're getting ripped FOR coming out and praising Ming! Trust me, if they are willing to pass the ball to Hakeem like they did his last year here they'll pass the ball to Ming.
Nice interview. Cat seems like a really likeable, positive guy. Anybody noticed that he said Cato is 7'1?
Yeah, I heard that... ...7'1" my arse! They shouldn't be lying about his hight, because it makes his rebounding stats look that much worse!
You mean like calling someone by a nick name . . . i.e. CAT . . . when you don't know him personally? Rocket River
So if we draft a player from England we have to let him drive down the wrong side of the road? Ming's in Rome now, and he can do as the Romans do... while he is here it's Ming Yao!
