Cat made his first appearance on channel 2's Sports Sunday last night. Here's a recap of what he said:

Road trip will be tough. We are 2 game up on Lakers but going back to LA and Phoenix will be tough. (No kidding.)

Playing poorly against bad teams: Have to be mentally ready. Said part of the reason is that they are too young. (Haven't we heard that before?)

Reacted to Rudy saying the players need to worry about fixing their own problems and stop worrying about each other: Mental breakdowns. Said he hasn't played well the last 3 games...not worried about himself. Said he has played harder on defensive end to make up for it. Wants team to be like Sac, Dallas and LA.

Has tough defensive assignments every night and told Rudy he wants them. It will come together. Said team is a lot better than last year. Just need to move ball better .

Funny moment: Steve Francis had a taped interview asking Cat if he had taken down the J-Lo pictures down from his mirrors. Cat said he would get Francis back for saying that.

Talked about how big it will be to get Rice back for the Lakers game. His veteran leadership is good in helping them out.

All in all Cat said a bunch of nothing but at least he did admit to playing poorly.

Matt Bullard had a taped piece on the new arena. Looks really sweet. The place is huge. They showed pictures of the inside and a model of the new suites. Looks really nice.

Again with the "We're young" excuse! Cat's been in the league for FIVE (5) FRICKIN YEARS, and HE'S THE ONE WHOSE PLAY HAS SUCKED THE MOST!!!

This team and every player (and coach) on it is absolutely clueless

I think when the "youth" excuse is put into play, it is not simply talking about age. I think some might also be about the length this squad has been together. Sure...he and Steve have played together a while. It is the patterns they had to develop together that we must escape in order to start winning. I am actually neutral on Cat right now. He has picked up his D a bit(never saw that coming). While he has had horrid shooting performances lately, it wasn't from jacking up terrible shots. His shot selection has really improved. He just hasn't been able to hit the side of a barn. Streaky. I don't think we could get fair value for Cat in a trade. 6th man only. Oh well.....I'm just rambling now. Gotta Go.

man R-Us, chill out. We have the youngest starting front court for a .500 team, and ALL OF THEM are first time starters for the Rockets.

That was a fine interview. He said everything we yell at him about and expressed a desire to concentrate on a role playing defense and passing the ball, and doesn't sound like he's sulking. His shot will come back, and with more chemistry the Rockets can make better use of his slashing. I mean, Cuttino and Posey are vastly superior slashers to Shandon Anderson, right? All the talk of not using Shandon as a spot up shooter apply to both Cat (in a new off-ball role) and Posey.

    sheesh

And I totally agree that we have missed Rice more than many on this BBS are willing to admit.

Well, that's the good thing about Cat. Kobe can't guard him either. And when Kobe starts to push Cat around, cat gets mad, and start playing better. I've seen it time and time again.

If Cat plays as well as he did during the last Laker game I'll be more than satisfied. I thought he played some outstanding D and made his free throws when the game was on the line. Just a very good game overall.

No more excuses for any of the players. I have heard the same sound bites from Cuttino all year long. Sort of like #11 and #25 used to do.

Heh. Even I am not as crazy as this guy.

And heh. I don't even post as much as the other guy.

Yeah. I saw Sports Sunday. What do you expect? Do you want Mobley to say...OH I HAVE SUCKED. IT'S ALL MY FAULT. THAT'S WHY WE ARE LOSING. CUZ STEVE ISN'T PASSING. AND YAO HASN'T BEEN SCORING BY HIMSELF.

    Anyways...the new arena looks NICE.

Catty can say all the crap he wants to say (talk is cheap) but that does not change the fact that he is either crappy or close to crappy. If you don't play smart ball - you are automatically crap.

(Please pardon use use of crap. Parc!)

    No sh*t...

This young BS is getting old...

Someone needs to step up and it's gotta be Franchise...

As he goes, the team goes and I can't imagine another guy that wants to win to have 1 assist in a game...

    Peace...

Kobe will get his 30pts tomorow, lets just hope it is not the main factor of the game tomorow. Good luck Rocks.

let's not forget, that Stockton was held to 1 assists, by the rockets. His lowest in like forever...20yrs....or something.

So stevie's 1 assist night...was not pretty, but not a dagger.

What are you talking about? Who are you referring to? You need to stop talking to that little birdie inside of your head.

I think that this board has a lower BBall IQ than Cat...

But I don't mind, most of 'em are rookies in their first year at ClutchCity. We're a young board...

I think Mobley's okay recently apart from his shooting (and those open shots will fall eventually).

One point I would like to point out though is that I hope they (i.e. Francis, Mobley and Rudy) can stop using the "young" card. In using this "young" card, they are practically putting the blame on our young players (Yao and EG), but make it sound like they are not taking the responsibility themselves. But I think most of us pretty much agree that problem is on Francis, Mobley and/or Rudy (depending on your view), not Yao and EG,
