hey guys well i was talking to my female coworker who is dating rocket x as you guys now call him and she said last night he said that another rocket said cat told him he was prety sure he wa going to sign with the raptors.cat says the money and security are hard to pass up,he has a kid to look after and signing with the rockets for one yea, anything could happen..he could get hurt and the rockets might not want to sign him,he could have a bad year and his stock could dip as far as leverage.he feels his stock is high now because a lot of teams have called him about playing for them. ------------------ Eddie for three...yesssssssssssss..holy mother
What, he has a kid to worry about? Screw that, he's a greedy punk who's selling us out! ------------------ A little bit better than I used to be
Oh please stop with that. Like his kid can't survive on the 8 million dollars he'd get here over two years. That's chickenfeed I guess huh? I'm sorry, but if you expect me to understand or feel sorry for Cuttino's situation because he's had a child pre-marriage, you've very mistaken. And what exactly are the chances of Cuttino getting hurt with a career ending injury? About the same as me being struck by lightning. And look no further than Matt Maloney for proof that they will pay him. And also, I hate to say this but Cuttino is not married from what I understand. I don't think we should be held responsible if he has a damn kid before he is married and wants money to support his child. 8 million is more than enough. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited July 21, 2000).] [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited July 21, 2000).]
I'm sure this has been asked before, but if Mobley does leave, how much cap will that free up to try and get someone like Lewis to Houston? Is it an amount that makes the Rockets more likely to get him? ------------------ Tom Archer www.sourcedna.com
None this year. We'll still be well over the cap. It will put us significantly more under the cap next year though to make a run at Webber. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
As in C-Web?! (starting to breathe hard) Bye, bye, Cutino <G> ------------------ Tom Archer www.sourcedna.com
BTW, I assume you know that your site is down. I had wanted to check it out. Is the sig just a joke or are you actually creating a site? ------------------ Tom Archer www.sourcedna.com
I thought it might be, but nowadays people are creating sites for literally everything. BTW, sorry about the original post. Now that I've registered and looked around a bit, I see that the Lewis question has been brought up in quite a few threads. Oops! ------------------ Tom Archer www.sourcedna.com
That's fine, we all know that some of the new guys are gonna have questions. Just watch out or a guy named Mango and the Serious Police might get on your case. Welcome to ClutchCity. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited July 21, 2000).]
Dear Cat-holic, Who cares if Cuttino's not married and has a kid. If you would turn down the same opportunity then fine, but you can't fault another man for making a decision that's best for him and his family. That's just immature. I have yet to hear anyone say say for for sure that Cat's agent called the Rocks' and told them not to draft a SG. Get off his ass. He's played his but off for us and that's good enough for me. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight
I read that off the Rocket Guy's site and numerous other websites. That was EXACTLY the case. I have a reason to be upset with him. His agent told us not to draft an SG, and he owes us for so many things it could take all night to list. You'll see some I've listed in other threads. IMO, that would be betrayal on his part. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
Cat, as far as I know that is a rumor that was started because someone couldn't understand why Rudy would pass on Courtney Alexander. Don't believe all of the crap you read on the internet. If you want to hate him IF he leaves, then fine, but I don't believe for a second that under the same circumstances any man, including you, would not be tempted to go for the dough. Rudy is a man of principle and he has always been reserved when it comes to the media and trashing players, but if Mobley leaves after his agent made those threats, I am sure that Rudy or CD will let us know about it. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight [This message has been edited by Rocketsauce (edited July 21, 2000).]
If Mobes goes to the Raptors I hope his ass averages like 5 points for the rest of his life. That little b**** is going to screw us over like that. He should have told us earlier, atleast we could have had C. Alexander. And what the hell is this guy thinking. He is going to have to pry the ball away from half amazing half sh!tty. Selfish little b*stard!!!! ------------------
Even if that is true Cat, that the Rockets passed Alexander because of the whims of Mobes, so what? That doesn't make him a betrayer. Mobes does NOT know if he is going to sign with the Rockets. He CANNOT make that kind of a deal, cuz it is illegal. And the Rockets did not have to listen to him. Even with the loss of Mobes, the weakness of the Rocks is in the frontcourt, so they get Collier. The Rockets knew that not picking Alexander was not a guarantee of resigning Mobes. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
LOL! The Cat, you're a riot... eat 'em up!! Like I've said in other threads, I'd hate to see Cat go, but if he does, I've got no complaints. I'll still despise any Rocket that leaves the organization in a way that didn't involve injury, death, or a trade. Heck, I'll even hate some of the ones that left via trade, too. ------------------ Just shut up and post
If Mobes ends up in Toronto, he will help Carter lead them deep into the playoffs. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
The good news is that, if he decides to stay, it would be huge in terms of luring other young guys to Houston. It would give anyone cause for a double-take to see Cuttino pass up the bigger contract to stay with the boys in blue. I could mean a lot of things, but it'll surely show that he: 1. Loves the city of Houston and the fans 2. Loves the coaching staff and the system 3. Loves his teamates, and 4. Trusts the organization to reward him later That's a great reputation. ------------------ WEBMASTER of SaveOurCuttino.Com "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
The same Toronto team that LOST Tracy McGrady, and has a bunch of disgruntled veterans? Sounds like a plan. You know, the ironic thing is that Mobley and Carter are both PATHETIC defenders. Anyone taking bets that Francis will score 40 in the 2 games we play them? Crisco, please don't expectorate. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
I don't think anyone of you guys would sign with the Rockets if you were in Cuttino's shoes. Everyone wants to make money and be secure for the future. Only a fool would take less money, unless they knew a 100% they will get that type of money somehow in the future. Also players in some special conditions where they know they have a great chance to win with the team and improve their stocks stay loyal or go for less money. ------------------ $$ out $$
