Channel 2's Craig Roberts had a story tonight that the Rockets players are well aware of the lack of fan support. He had Mobley on saying that he and some of the other Rockets are thinking about buying some seats for some fans. Cat didn't go into any in depth details. More than likely the seats will be for strippers from the Men's Club I'm betting. Old School
Hey I think you are on to something Old School. If strippers came to Rockets home games, that would definitely bring the majority of male Houstonians out of the woodworks and into the C-paq Center. Hell they could even do lap dances for $10 in the stands. They could call it the 10-10 deal. $10 dance with a $10.00 ticket. Dude I would be all over that!!!
cant blame the fans all on this 1.... all types of industrys are lossing money here in houston we have lost alot of people in the Compaq and Continental Airlines * i lost my job for American Airlines* YES houston has one of the worst fan base as far as ticket sales..... but the Rockets are ENTERTAINMENT who havent been performing all that well that last 3 years or so....and now that the rox are bring competative, interesting ball and the country is slowly recovering from the NYC,DC tradgedy...I was going to buy some season tickets today but i just found out I will not get my Retro check from American till dec..... the fans will come out...it just takes some time for the fans here in houston...
Speaking of strippers, you guys shoulda seen the chick that Jose Lima brought to sit with him on the front row! Ouch! Best crowd of the season tonight...I think I heard they had around 12,500 but it actually seemed like more than that. As ugly as the game was there actually seemed to be some enthusiasm. The place should be rocking next week for the Lakers game. Old School
I saw her last game from far away and I must say.....HOT DAMN!!!!! Its definitely Lima Time Sorry about your job Shotcaller It would be nice if some Rocket players bought tickets and passed it out to unpriveldged kids or something. Nice gesture and more fans. Of course its not my money so its easier for me to say.
It looked jam packed compared to some of the recent games. As mentioned, it was officially 12,300 +. Old School
Notice how everyone in this room took the thought of strippers and ran with it. LES, ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?!!!!
Les could start by having the Power Dancers lose a little clothing. They cover up more than any squad I have ever seen. I think they show more skin in Utah. Old School
Maybe i could finally get that blow job that everyone accused me of wanting when I got mad at the Dallas guy I could do a mastercard commercial... Plane tix to Houston...$400 Hotel room...$250 Rental car..$100 Tix to the game to see Cato put up a 20-20 game...$10 Blowing your load while Cato blows his...priceless!
Crowds were much better than the first two games I went to. That Mr. Fan guy is still pretty annoying, he doesn't get me riled up at all. But the effort is appreciated. Cat and Francis had a nice fan club in the front row of section 125. MY GOD!! Lima and his wife are on the outs. A buddy of mine at V+E does his legal work. I seriously doubt that was his wife.
Interestingly media have been throwing the following theory and observations out there for the Rockets: That the fan base has been dismal, BUT the real fans ... the low bowlers .... the corporate season ticket holders and the "expensive seat" fans have remained loyal. It is the upper bowlers with the cheap seats that have stopped coming to the games. Yep, the observers have noted that the upper bowl seats have been largely vacant, but that the lower bowl has been occupied more than adequately. Geniuses that they are ... these expert observers have postulated that the lower bowl and it's exorbitant prices are not a problem because they are almost always filled (or at least, rarely have gaping holes of empty) seats .... where as the upper bowl has entire sections vacant. They extrapolated from this .... you guessed it .... it is NOT a seat price problem ..... it is general apathy on the part of the "blue collar" fan. My Survey: Media: Do you know what lower bowl "seat pirating" is? Armed with the knowledge of that definition, do you think you might want to rethink your theories on "filled/non-filled" seat patrons? Lower Bowl Corporate Season Ticket Holders: When was the last time you ever went to a Rocket game, with your tax deductible season ticket? When you finally did get around to actually using it to impress the hell out of the daughter or son of a client, did you have to kick some raging, yelling, rabid, "blue collar" fan out of your seat? Did this surprise you?
Although the idea of strippers is intriquing, I think they should definitely buy whole sections in the Summit, and give the tickets to organizations like Big Brothers & Sisters. But for payment, those receiving the tickets aren't allowed to sit during the game, and must all lose their voices before the final buzzer sounds.
