Since a Rocket *is* a science-fictiony kind of thing, figured it
was a good time to set forth my version of the cast&crew of
the USS Rocketprise as it sets forth on its five-to-ten-year
journey, boldly going where no Rockets team has gone (for the
    last seven years anyway)

So it's (left to right) the person, who they would play, and why.. :)

Cato - that lizard dude that Kirk had to kill with a cardboard
tube full of gunpowder and onyx.. only Cato is slightly
slower and less likely to get a rebound

MoT - Worf (only bigger and hairier)

Griffin - wesley crusher - the kid who grew up really tall really
fast and saved the day all the time

Torres - Picard .. uhhhhmm.. bald guy?

Moochie - a Tribble cuz he has a tribble on his head

Cat - LaForge - blind black guy (blinded by his own bling)

Ming - Sulu - uhhhhh chinese guy?

Nachbar - Chekov 'Where are nuclear wessels?'

Steve - Kirk the leader, calls everyone 'lover'

    CD - Organians .. really old, all-powerful

Rudy - Chewbacca (I know I know, wrong universe, but
    come ON, he's definitely Chewbacca)

Sam Cassell - honorable mention, - Any time there was ever an
    alien head on any viewscreen

KT - The commander of Deep Space Nine - um, black guy
    with a beard?

Rice - Picard - see Picard reason above

    Langhi, Collier, Brown,
    Maddux, Maloney, Drew,
etc etc etc - red shirts

Keith Jones - McCoy - Damnit Rudy, I'm a trainer, not a miracle
worker! (when asked why he can't get the red
shirts to play like NBA players)

ah well, a little raw I know... who did I leav out?

heh. It's going to be a LOOOOOOONG summer.

(I'll play along a little bit though)

Archer : Franchise - the leader, but outside observers are always doubting him.

Tucker: Tmo - the captain's buddy!

T'Pol : Rice - old school, uncomfortable, but learning to work within the new ways.

Cat: Reed - answer to everything is "shoot, shoot, shoot."

Mayweather : Griffin - young and skilled, but learning on the job.

Sato : Ming - the newcomer. Expect growing pains, but also capable of extraordinary things

Phlox : Moochie - always good-natured, necessary to keep the crew running.

Doesn't star trek have a fan forum. Of course, they would probably gripe about the Rockets part of things. Maybe they should have a Star Trek Rockets fan forum. Either way, if I never read another star trek rockets mix post for the rest of my life, I think I would be okay.

This is going to be a long summer... Why don't we figure out which Rocket is most like the seven dwarfs...

We once had a Rocket called Sleepy (Floyd)!

    The trainer could be Doc?

    Whatever!!!

well done Nero. I must admit that I haven't seen an episode of Star Trek since I was a wee lad ( the Shattner Nimoy era), but the descriptions you give make the post. Bravo.

Actually, Sulu (George Takai) was Japanese.

    Anyway, here's my list:

Cato - Quark - Ferengi from Deep Space Nine. Loves money, but avoids confrontation whenever possible.

MoT - Spock (minus the reason and logic). Stronger than other humans, but prefers to avoid displays of strength.

Rice - Captain Kirk from the later movies - Used to be impressive, but now just an old guy trying to revive his glory days.

Cat - McCoy - Damnit Jim I'm a shooting guard, not a point guard!

Steve - Worf - Relies on passion and physical ability rather than his brain.

Griffin - Data - doesn't show much emotion, but is often the best person for the job.

Ming - Wesley Crusher - Has the potential to be a great Starfleet Officer; he just needs the chance to prove it.

Moochie - Odo - The shapeshifter (constantly changing hair) and security officer (incessant refusal to allow anyone else to touch the ball) on Deep Space Nine.

KT - Scottie - He's "givin it all he's got", but he just can't be the starter in our logjam at the PF.

Nachbar and Torres - Sulu and Chekov - Important characters, but not the focus of the show.

RT - Deanna Troy - The empath that has to soothe the fragile egos of all the players.

Langhi, Collier, Brown, Maddux, etc. - The token hensens that never makes it back with the rest of the away party.
