Considering Kidd's age and lack of a jumpshot, I would actually think twice about trading Francis for Kidd now.
Cassell is more CLutch . . . . I won't say Cassell > Kidd but Cassell is a hell of alot closer than most give him credit for Better shot and More Cluth and FAR MORE HEART Rocket River
Cassell isn't as good a passer, defender, or rebounder, but he's a much better shooter, and he has two rings. But let's not forget that Cassell has played with MVPs and MVP candidates... Jason Kidd was an MVP candidate.

Kidd is a bit of a whiner. But even heart cannot make up the difference in skills between Cassell and Kidd unfortunately. I'm sure if you ask most players in the NBA who they would rather have on their team, most would pick Kidd.
Kidd is a whiner? But Cassell isn't? Cassell doesn't commit himself enough on defense for me to really respect him. He also spends way too much time dribbling. This will be the Wolves offensive downfall against a quick-rotating team like LA.
I hate Kidd, should be in jail for woman abuse... nonetheless, I think he is overrated. He wouldnt have led Minnesota as far as Cassel has.
Used to agree with that, don't anymore, I want a PG who can also score. Cassel is better than Kidd at this stage in their careers. DD
I don't know, its still hard to argue about the impact Kidd has had on that Nets team. I actually think Kidd would be a great point guard for Minnesota. Right now I think KG has to work to hard to get his shot off. He's really not a post player, and if he had a point guard who got him the ball on the move, I think it would improve his game.
