Looks like the Portland have entered the picture as a real potential spot as it looks like we he have fallen out, unless a deal goes on for Ron.

I still think Houston has a better shot to get Carter than Portland does...

The best player the Blazers could pick up is Richard Jefferson. He would fill a gaping hole at starting SF and give that team some much-needed grit and experience (along with his talent).

LaFrentz/Outlaw/Rodriguez is a solid offer considering how most of Raef's contract is insured and Outlaw/Rodriguez are all young, cheap talent.

You might as well enter Travis Outlaw's name in the 2010 Free Agent Sweepstakes right now. If this deal goes down he's going to put up monster numbers in New Jersey as a #2/3 option and will eventually parlay that into a monster contract during the the summer of 2010. Just more fuel for the fire.

If we get Carter for McGrady, that would be great. He still has some left in the tank, bad contract though.....however i think we need to win now.

Unless they decide to play Roy at PG how does Carter fit? They want an upgrade at SF who won't take away shots from Roy and plays defense.

No he won't. Outlaw is very talented but he's not smart enough to put it together.

Trading those spare parts for either Carter or Jefferson is much smarter for the Blazers than the previous Aldridge for Amare swap.

It's interesting that both Houston and Portland are supposed to have a shrewd GM in evaluating talents.

Hmm.... sure sounds like NJ is leaking erroneous info to try and drive up vince's value.

I've always been curious what kind of numbers Outlaw could put up as a starter since he's almost strictly been limited to bench play. Especially if he starts using his length and athleticism to his advantage by driving more. He has the body and build of a slasher yet is primarily a jump shooter. I don't really get it but the potential for him to "get it" is still there. We'll see what happens.

This won't likely happen, ever since the Pau-trade everyone thinks that they can trade scrubs and get superstars back....
