Vince Carter exploded tonight against the Denver Nuggets in a 98-96 OT win...He hit three ft's with 1 second left to send the game to overtime, and hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left to win the game...In addition to these heroics, Carter finished with these numbers: 42 points, 15 rebs, 6 assts, 5 steals...Not too shabby...er...eh? Did you get the game on Sportsnet? We got the Oilers Stars game here. Speaking of Can-con, wouldn't you like to hear some of the good hockey commentators call an NBA game? I was imagining Danny Gallivan (sp?) calling the end of that Raptors game. "… Vince, with the Carterian spinnerama, a scintillating shot from behind the arc, HE SCOOOOORES!!, and sends the Nuggets down to defeat !!" Ahh the memories, eh?

If Raef had any testicles, we would have won that game. There was no excuse for him missing that shot as the overtime expired. All he had to do was dunk it, instead he tried to be fancy and....ugh.

    I hate Raef.

    A) Carter got a piece of the pass to disrupt the alley...

    B) That would have tied the game, not won it...

    C) Reaf played great for you guys the whole game...

A.) Doesn't matter. Raef got BOTH hands on it. He had control of it. He wussed out and tried to get fancy.
B.) The way we were playing, we would have won in double OT. If it wasn't for a stupid foul by McCloud with 3 seconds left in regulation, we would have won then. Carter had to hit that INCREDIBLE shot to give the Raptors the lead. The Nugs were playing better and had the momentum.
C.) Give me a break. Did you watch the game? Raef had a CRAP first quarter. He played great in the second and was average the rest of the game. I can't wait to see some team give Raef $10+ mil a year. He's the next Kelvin Cato.

For Raef to be the next Kelvin Cato, he'd have to cut those nice averages of his in half and sulk a bit more.

P.S. Does this mean we can have him for Moochie and Langhi ;)?

    A) No, the thing is, he DIDN'T ever get two hands on it under control...due to VC's tip.

    B) Pure speculation...

    C) Uh, yes I watched the game twice, in fact. And it wasn't just the second...his blocks kept the Nugs in the game, and helped turn it around...Also, when Nick the Quick was making his big shots, take a look at who got him open...In addition, he played with great energy the whole night, and he and Van X are the only reason the Nuggets didn't fold up. But don't take my word for it, the Nuggets' announcers were going on about Raef all night...

im glad it was tipped. it would have hurt more had he missed by himself.

but vince carter didnt win the game. the refs did. they flat out cost us a W big time. my brother, who isnt a nuggets fan or raps fan, was over to watch the 4th Q and OT and many times (without me saying anything) said that WASNT a foul? what?! after nve got hammered many times without a call. in fact, he was literally begging the refs for a call during OT (for those who saw the game, you know what im talking about). despite the stats, nve outplayed vc. vc was clutch though, and ill give him major props for that (the foul on mccloud was legit) but nve played better overall.

had nve gotten the exact same call vc did, we win in regulation easily.

(i also hate raef...im saying it now as often as i can so when raef is traded, i have a right to be happy...im saying this BEFORE any trade...raef sucks and when he is gone, its good for the nuggets. period)

Refs were bad both ways, for every call you can say the Nuggets didn't get, I can say a call the Raptors didn't get as well. It was the worst called game I have ever seen. Even on one of the plays, VC's shot was on the rim and one of the Nuggets grabbed it off of it. VC also got pounded big time and the game was VERY physical, thats probably why NVE wasn't getting the contact calls because they weren't calling it at all for either team.

That's still going to affect NVE's game more than Carter's, since he's so small. If someone bumps Carter, maybe he still makes the shot. Bump Van Exel, and he might just fly across the court :).
