I just hope they keep the opening "we can rebuild him..." them the same. Carrey to star in '6 Million Dollar Man' Associated Press NEW YORK - Jim Carrey will star in a film based on the '70s TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man," to be written and directed by Todd Phillips, Dimension Films announced. "The teaming of Jim and Todd is a perfect creative combination to launch the `Six Billion Dollar Man' franchise, Dimension Films co-chairman Bob Weinstein said in a statement Tuesday. "Todd is a director with proven instincts and Jim is a superstar." According to the studio, "the combination of Carrey and Phillips led to a fresh, hilarious take on the potential franchise." Lee Majors starred as Col. Steve Austin in the action-adventure series, which ran from 1974-78. Phillips directed "Old School" and "Road Trip," and is now working on the movie version of "Starsky & Hutch." Carrey's films include "Bruce Almighty," "The Truman Show" and "Man on the Moon."
Maybe they can combine the 6 million dollar man Steve Austin and Stone Cold Steve Austin, that would be enertaining.
I read today that due to inflation from the 70's to now to build the same 6 million dollar man that they built then would cost 24.8 million today. The 24.8 million dollar man just doesn't sound right now does it?
How about Julia Roberts, Pamela Anderson, and Jason Patric in "Three's Company: The Movie"? On second thought, if this movie is ever made, somebody promise to shoot me!!!
Why are all these 70's shows getting remade? Where is the love for the 80's TV shows? A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf, MacGuyver....
It goes in cycles, the shows from the '80s will be done after 2010. I guess then we can see the Dallas and Dynasty movies.
Even though it stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson? For some reason, that doesn't seem like it's going to be true to the original show to me.
Another Brother: That would be awesome. A-Train: Those shows suck. rothdaniel: Lee Majors rules. Faos: Which one of them gives you the woody?
BJ, You think MacGuyver sucks? That is one of the all-time greatest shows. Imagine, a character that gets by using his brain instead of: special powers, nifty gadgets, physical prowess, etc. I thought it was a very original idea.
