Anyone ever had the surgery for this? What was the recovery like? I am getting concerned that I maybe developing the symptons <yea yea yea. .. i hear your jokes already *grin*> I am wondering if there are exercises and practices that one can do to avoid surgery. If not, I am wondering how the surgery goes. Rocket River
Obviously, I'd go see my primary care doc first if I were you; however, if the symptoms are relatively mild, they'll probably suggest trying a brace/splint with some anti-inflammatory meds i.e. aspirin before pursing more aggressive treatments. In the worse case scenario, where if surgery is needed, then it's a relatively safe and quick procedure.
Check out this guys videos for exercises. I've gotten tendonitis in my left hand and these help. Forgot link: http://www.youtube.com/user/ottottojazz
If you're just now feeling symptoms, then its likely you are pretty far from anything serious. For now, you should wear some over the counter braces and change your habits for a short while to see if that makes a difference. Surgery is way off. When your arm, hand and fingers become numb and near useless, thats when you might want to consider surgery.
