"He's a tree. He's a big dude. You can't go over him and you try to go around him, but his wing span is ridiculous -- it's 8 feet or something." - Caron Butler, Miami Heat rookie forward who was rejected twice by Yao, 12/16/02 for those that saw the game, you'll recall butler trying to go over yao ming a couple of times. both times he was devoured by the big man. what on earth was he thinking...and does he still not think yao ming will be the best rookie out of this class???
He obviously read posts on this bbs earlier in the year that claimed Yao had alligator arms and couldn't jump.
He HAD to say that right? I mean he did get sent back on his ass twice when he tried to go up against Yao the Wall.
exactly. and those weren't offbalance jumps. dude had a running start, went off of two feet, turned to the side, then got his shot crushed!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! YAO MING HAS SHORT ARMS!! hahahahahahah! ROTFLMAO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAH!
It's just like the World Championships, when everyone was dying to be the first guy to throw down on the big man.(must be read in your best Walton voice for full effect) You don't get to the NBA level without having unbelievable confidence in your game, and thats whats going on here. When these guys hear about this huge guy from China who is supposed to be the "Next BIG Thing". They wanna go out and do what they've done to every other "big thing" they've ever come across. You can tell that word has gotten out about him though, because that crap is stopping fast.
Well, some people just like to learn lessons the hard way. It seems that CB finally learnt that lesson now.
