http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/carlos-delfino-addresses-media Man I gotta tell you I am really impressed with his personality. Seems really humble and happy to be in Houston. He said you wanna help players develop and be the glue guy. Hope he'll bring his Olympic game to Houston as well.
I still think it was a good pickup even if advanced stats don't seem to think so (at least the ones I've looked at). He seems to know his role with a good attitude and be a hard worker like Luis. Can't ask for more out of a near minimum contract.
Cant ask for a better attitude from a solid vet coming to work with a bunch of rookies. He used the terms "glue guy", and "player coach" in the same sentence. Alot of people probably shook their heads in disbelief when the Rockets signed him instead of going after someone like Hassan Whiteside, or K. Fesenko, but having a vet like him to help tutor the young kids will be priceless in their development.
That's the good thing about Argentine players in the NBA: they're just happy to be in the league, and they'll work their asses off to do whatever it takes to stay there. So I'm really not surprised about Delfino's attitude, I think he'll be a valuable addition as a veteran in a very young team.
