Who do you guys think is the better PF? Both are under 6-10, but are very strong and has very good post moves.
Boozer.Firsts I think he's qicker He's a better finisher around the rim, right or left handed. Better rebounder and has better midrange jumper IMO.
You have to go with Boozer. Better stats and he is HEALTHY this season. On the right team Brand could be a more important piece because he is a defensive beast.
We don't know if Brand will come back as good as he was. Imo, pre-injury Brand was better. As you pointed out, both are similar offensively but defense sets them apart. Brand is a shot-blocking machine and, as far as I know, is also much better on 1-on-1 post defense.
This is the worst possible time to be asking this with Brand on the shelf the entire season. Before his injury, Brand was better. Going forward, you'd have to take Boozer because we don't know what Brand's future will be.
I want to say Elton Brand, because the numbers say that he is better, but Boozer is a big reason why the Jazz have become relevant again and are competiting for possibly the best record in the West.
Brand played better on both sides of the floor pre-injury. They both had similar offensive games, but Brand can block shots and get steals like the best of them. I hope he turns out okay. He should just rest from now until next season.
If Brand weren't injured, he'd be better because he is a great defender while Boozer plays no D. Their offensive abilities are comparable and very close. It remains to be seen if Brand can be as good as he was, I don't think he's coming back this year.
Brand was better before, but since he's injured, right now, Boozer is better. Brand is more likeable though. He doesn't seem to constantly complain to the refs and yell "AND 1" after EVERY shot he takes. And of course, he's not on the Jazz.
Brand is a far better defensive player, and they are comparable on the offensive end. So I'll take him.
At full health. No question about it IMO. Elton Brand is far better. And if he was healthy this year he might have elevated his game into a higher tier of PF all together. Brand doesn't have D.Williams and the Jazz offense getting him open jumpers all game. Brand never had Okur hovering around the 3pt line drawing out the oppositions interior defense to create room to work down low. The impact and stamp Brand could put on a game on a regular basis was pretty serious.
care to explain? boozer has a much easier job than brand, playing with deron williams. one of the top pgs in the league. who was brand stuck with? 2 injured pgs? and a cavemen? come on, brand is just a beast on the defensive end, and can be at the offensive end, just like boozer. so... i pick a healthy brand over boozer any day.
It's close. Brand was better but i've always thought since Utah's scoring is so balanced if Boozer got more touches his points per game would be considerably higher. I'm curious if Brand can come back healthy and regain his pre-injury form. If/when he does expect him to have a monster year next season since he's playing for a new contract.
If Brand were healthy he would own Boozer. Brand's got a wingspan like an Airbus. He has a quicker first step and a better inside game and he blocks 2 shots per game compared to Boozer's 0.4 career avg. The only thing Boozer has that's better than Brand is his 15 footer and that's not by much. I'd like to see a healthy Brand being fed by Deron Williams or a CP3. People like David West, Carlos Boozer and Kmart when he had Jason Kidd are solid players but they're the beneficiary of great PG Play. Plus he was one of the very few guys I remember that held Duncan in check when Duncan was in his prime 4-5 years ago. Brand>>>>>>> Boozer all day every day.
