Does anyone know his status with the Pistons? It might be nice to get this guy as he seems to play under control and can shoot the rock.
uh? Mike James and Arroyo have nothing to do with each other. James signed with the Bucks in the offseason, Arroyo re-signed with the Jazz on a long-term deal. Both were traded this season in seperate deals that had nothing to do with each other. And to answer your question, he is signed through the 2007/2008 season.
Whoa, whoa, I believe you misunderstood him. I believe he meant we ended up getting Mike James because Arroyo went to the Pistons. He didn't say they had anything to do with each other.
If that is the case, I didn't misunderstand him. And, saying we got player A 'BECAUSE' player B was traded IS saying they have something to do with each other. Mike James was on the Bucks. Arroyo being traded to the Pistons, from the Jazz, didn't open the door for James to come here. Even if Arroyo stayed with the Jazz for the whole season, the Rockets probably still make the James' trade with the Bucks. It doesn't matter anyway. No big deal. The original poster's question has been answered. I was just trying to clear, what seems to be, a misconception.
Screw Arroyo. I want Antonio Daniels. I wanted Mike James all last offseason. Now I want AD and I will keep screaming it until the Front Office reads one of my posts and comes thru like I know they will. Yes I want both Mike James and Antonio Daniels on our team. I am a greedy SOB. Please CD & JVG......GET AD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
arroyo isn't going anywhere. detroit got him on the cheap, and they would be foolish to give him up, especially since their bench is thin already...
...also the fact that Arroyo basically sucked for the entire year until now despite getting a huge contract should be dissuasive, IMO
I'm sure Detroit would give him away if they could. He's been absolutely terrible there. He's being paid 4 million a year to average 5 points, making only 37% of his fg attempts and only 8% of his 3-pointers. Arroyo is just another product of the Utah system.
See large free agent contracts like Shandon Anderson, Byron Russell. Howard Eisley to be scared even more. The only person more loyal to his players with big deals for small performance than Sloan was Rudy T.
