ESPN reported on their midnight show that and ESPN Magazine Reporter claims Rick Carlisle has been fired by the Detroit Pistons so they could get into the Larry Brown "sweepstakes."

How f*cked up is that? You win 50+ games, 2 years in a row, and get your team to the conference finals and they show you the door?

Now tell me that Rudy didn't get a fair shake!!

The Pistons are idiots. Here's a young coach, working with a young team that is getting better and better each year and have the #2 pick and they blow it by firing him. Apparently he went into the Piston's office looking for an extension but they had already prepared to fire him. Heck, I wouldn't mind the Rockets taking Carlisle! He's young, he's a disciplined coach and he put together the best defensive team in the league, and he could grow with this team! And he had a pretty good offensive scheme with the Pistons that worked despite not having many offensive weapons. Please interview and get this guy Les!

Im thinking Issiah will be fired by Indy. He than goes back home to Detroit to coach his pistons.

I'd still love for Larry Brown to come to the Rockets. But this move by the Pistons is ridiculous. Clearly the league is greatly overvaluing Larry Brown.

And I second interviewing Carlisle to coach the Rox.

And the list of coaches I would be VERY happy to get grows to three: Van Gundy, Carlisle, and Brown. WHAT THE F**K WERE THE PISTONS THINKING!?

Oh, so he didn't make it to the finals. And look at all that talent he has to work with (as opposed to Isiah).

    RICK CARLISLE

Joe Dumars is one ruthless President. He screwed over the Grizzlies with this year's #2 pick and now this. It looks like he's in a position to win big, but he might've underestimated how much Rick Carlisle brought to the team.

Dumars has got a set of balls on him. This guy is trading away lottery picks after less than a season (Rodney White) and firing coaches after 2 great seasons. The only possible explanation I can even fathom is maybe Dumars thought Carlisle was too patient with Prince and Okur, not giving them any significant playing time until the playoffs. Doesn’t seem like JoeD has much patience. I wonder what Dumars will do when 17 year old Darko comes in and doesn’t completely dominate like Dumars expects.

Isiah will never be the Pistons coach.

He was supposed to have a prominent role in the organization once he retired, but they decided that wouldn't be a good idea because he was such an as...not a nice guy. And he's been on the outs with the organization since then. He hates them, they don't much like him.

AP has a "source within the league" saying the Pistons will sign Brown: <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-pistonscoach&prov=ap&type=lgns">skimpy details here</a>.

Apart from his success in Detroit, Rick Carlisle was also a major factor in Larry Bird's success as the Pacers coach.

This NBA summer is like a soap opera...and the Finals haven't even started.
