I missed the beginning, but he just talked about how the Rockets are doing a good job communicating on defense. Said Mutombo led the defensive effort.
He's still on... So far they talked about his play at purdue, and they commented on how he guarded horford, noah, oden, etc. Talked about his fundamentals improving with his shot since he lost his explosion after surgery. Talked about what he wants to improve, whether it be strength, rebounding, scoring. Laughed about shooting 3's and he sounded pretty serious about expanding his range. Awesome!!! Talked about the team's play and attitude before and after yao's injury. Said he thought it was a bad bad baaaaad joke, but they will be ok without him. Also stated Yao didn't win all those games, the TEAM won all those games. So yeah, thats what I got so far. Callers will be calling in to talk to him in a bit after this commercial break!
Also on 610's homepage, there's a clip of T-Mac after Thursday's practice. The way he's talking about how sweeping February IS a great accomplishment, as if it's already a foregone conclusion that we'll beat Memphis, worries me. He's just setting himself up for potential embarrassment talking like that. Oh well, typical I guess.
kind of sad to hear tmac talking prematurely like that again if it is indeed true. but its great to hear landry's attitude and from the looks of it the team is managing their mindset well; if the rockets get anywhere the rest of this season and the playoffs, its a huge testament to the coaching staff's ability to keep the team focused and confident, and the players' ability to respond.
Haha, I just listened to him on 97.9 as well, he used the same joke about the afro and the ladies as he did on that station.
just listened to the tmac clip and it doesn't sound like hes saying they've already accomplished it. he only said its a great short-term goal to have. and its rarely been done in this league. didnt say anything that would imply he's looking ahead or past the grizzlies.
Carl doesnt sound like hes very humble about loyalty to the rockets. I feel that he didnt sound too too enthusiastic about signing an extension without testing the FA market. I feel he is going to turn down the extension, then test the market, and make the rockets match. Anyone else got this feeling when they asked him the question?
Do you guys want confidence or for him to be humble? Seems d*mned if he does and d*mned if he doesn't.
