In a trade with San Diego Padres for outfielder Kerry Robinson. I presume this is the same Hunter that played for us last year right? Anyway I am just uncomfortable with our ex-players re-uping with our bitter rivals almost immediately (especially after a bitter divorce). Bell was not able to do much against us when he left though. Hopefully he will not get to bite us later.........Oh well we have one of their own....a leftie hitter who is fairly a better suit thatn Brian.

If the Astros are one bit concerned about Brian L. Hunter signing with the Cardinals, they ought to pack it in and go home. Hunter will make as much of a difference on the Cardinals as he did on the Astros.

Hunter has a lifetime OPS of .659.

He plays like Willie Mays Hayes, so no prob with the Cards picking him up.

I came into this thread ready to drop the sarcasm hammer. But I read through it and realized there was no need for it. BTW Xiki, I thought Tuffy Rhodes was supposed to be the next Gerald Young, and Hunter was supposed to be the next RHodes.

You guys are "killing" me :D

Oh well. In a related story (rivals), it looks like Mr Prior will miss the first month of the MLB season. How much will it affect the Cubbies? Will he be effective before the ASG when he returns in May?

I don't know about you but I can't wait for the season to start next week. I am so excited and it does not hurt to know that Schmit (sp) will or may not be starting for the Giants in our opening game.

    Go 'Stros!

Schmidt is expected to open the season on the DL, as is Nen.

i think this is a bigger story than the cubs are letting on. everytime i hear something about prior's injury it gets worse. achilles problems for pitchers are not a small thing. oswalt missed a month last year, and i think we all think the division might have turned out a bit different had he not missed that month. the same might be said of prior. it's never good to lose your #1 guy for a month.

So many greats to be I may be confused.

PS Ryan Thompson's spring says he should be starting for a legit contender. I wonder how the season will play out for him. History reminds that spring training is not the Dog Days of...

It's good that it's happening to them though. It gave me a nice warm feeling when I heard he will miss the first month....is that bad?
