I am curious if anyone has any recommendations for a car window repair shop. My co-workers passenger window was broken last night and he is looking for a place to get it fixed. Has to be here in Houston.

What are the usual prices you all have paid in the past?

I think Safelight is the best way to go, many of my friends have gone there for windshield repair.

American Auto Glass on Yale does really good work.

Is it covered under his insurance? If so, he needs to check with them to make sure the shop he goes to is "approved" for coverage.

Im in the windshield industry. And you go to safelight at your peril. They have the worst reputation in the industry. The company I recommend is apple glass they are one of 2 companies in Houston that is agrss certified.

I went to Juan's Auto Glass, north of 610, paid about $85 for my passenger window that got broken into when I went to the Texans/Bengals playoff game in Jan. They did a good job and even vacuumed the loose glass around my door

Compared to Safelite that wanted to charge like $320

what part of town does he stay?
Is it covered by insurance or out of pocket?

I know one of my side windows got broken.
I called around junk yard for prices and ended up buying one on ebay and then installing it myself. Wasn't too hard, just alittle time consuming to clean up all the glass.

If it's front/read window then yeah, just go to a place and have them do it.

    Thanks everyone for the responses.

I had forgotten that your window was broken earlier this year. I would of sent a text your way if I had remembered. Thanks for the recommendation, I had my co-worker give them a call and he went to drop off his truck. He should have it back tomorrow.
