I have come to this board in need of assistance, hat in hand.....

I want to get a new car stereo installed in my car, but I do not want to get it done at a dealership (Lexus).

I need a place that sells the stereos but also installs them, and does a good job of the installation....the place where it would go is kind of curved, so it might be a weird fit. I need a place that is good at fitting stereos in weird car interior spaces without it looking like a hatchet job when they are done.

I want to get something that has AM/FM, a CD player, and an IPOD hookup.

    Suggestions?

Make sure you get one that has XM or Sirius. I have XM so I'm partial but if you are going to spend the dough, get satellite (built in to the receiver) as well. The sound is awesome and the service is too.

I never listen to AM/FM ever anymore. I don't even like taking my girlfriends car just because she doesn't have it.

Try Tijuana, but don't let them near your seats.

    Sincerely,

Two that you can look at are:

Custom Car Stereo - reportedly the best in town but very expensive.

Live Wire - I had my stereo installed there and Don, the installer, was a very nice guy. They seemed to do everything the correct way.

Car audio installation is cake. I did mines on my own w/o any prior knowledge. Save yourself the $$$$ and spend a couple of hours to diy.

he rolls in a lexus my friend. It's not a typical installation such as a civic where it's almost a perfect replacement.

Most places have FREE installations with the purchase of a new Stereo.

I had mine done at BestBuy.

Yeah, I had mine done at Best Buy as well. Have had no problems whatsoever with the stereo so I'm completely satisfied.
