It happened at the North Freeway and New Haven around 11 p.m. Thursday. Investigators with the Houston Police Department say the pair was traveling in a silver Ford Mustang when it crashed into a steel advertisement sign at speeds as high as 100 miles per hour. The impact was so hard, it ripped the car into several pieces. The female passenger was ejected from the car while the male driver was still in his seat. Investigators say both were intoxicated. The passenger was ejected, but the driver was still in his seat. Both were transported to the hospital in stable condition. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/traffic/110318-car-ripped-apart-i45-crash
They're very fortunate to be alive, but I honestly don't feel any sympathy for a couple of drunks tear-assing through Houston at over 100 mph.
seriously, if you want to survive a horrible car accident then just be intoxicated. Seems like the drunk ones always stay standing at the end.
On one hand, is it confirmed that alcohol had something to do with it? It doesn't say that on the report, are you not jumping into conclusions? On the other hand, if inevitably you were to have an accident such as this one, you better be drunk as hell if you want to get -still microscopical- better odds.
