I am letting a friend drive my car. Long story short - while saving to repair the transmission on his vehicle that cannot be driven - he cancelled his auto insurance. My car is insured. He has of course a driver's license. In case of accident - how would this work? My policy lists only me as driver.
I have uninsured motorist coverage - but that would mean if I were to be in an accident with a vehicle where that driver (vehicle?)was not insured? I am confused. I always thought that if one had insurance then a friend/whomever could drive the vehicle - even if the driver is uninsured himself? Help please! and thanks.

You insure the car, not the driver. As long as you gave permission for him to drive the car, things should be covered (at least with normal auto insurance carriers).
