Anyone ever used car fan? I'm looking to get something that keep me cool for a couple of months until I fix my AC.
I used to own a Volvo (my first car) that didn't have an A/C when I lived in Houston. Subsequently, it went to Austin and Nacogdoches...and then to Fort Worth. I mounted the fan on the dash and plugged it into the car cigarette lighter outlet. There is nothing like blowing hot air at you when it is 100 degrees outside. My car still had a fan blower and heat...just no A/C. I can't say it helped much on the hot days. I just remember a lot of sweating occurred during the summers I had that car. Sure, give it a try. I guess it's better than having no air flow and is useful when it doesn't get too hot outside.
I doesn't make sense to use a fan as it will just blow hot air. Here is an idea get a bucket and drill a hole in it for a fan. Fill it with water halfway. get a couple of metal posts or pipes. Fix them to the to the bucket with glue or tape. Put a fan in the hole. Here is an image:
This guy is local. He can hook you up with this sweet rig. http://gizmodo.com/288086/area-man-...car-looks-pleased-with-himself---inexplicably
You basically just created a humidifier. It may raise the humidity in the car but no so sure it's going to help with the temperature. lol
Build yourself one of these and keep it in the car. Replace the ice daily: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ITtlxjvLQis" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
