Do any of you guys know of any websites where people post what they are getting off of MSRP on their car purchases? My sister wants me to help her get a new Honda Accord, and because I've never really wanted one (I know they are great cars--they just aren't "me"), I'm not real up to date on what I should expect in terms of dollars off of MSRP.
edmunds.com posts what others in your zip code are buying cars for. The used to have dealer invoice but don't anymore (that I could find).
Yah....I know about edmunds, but I'm looking for more of an unadulterated view--not an average, but rather individual experiences.
Go find a Honda fan site and post the question there. I'm on an Acura site and people are posting what they're paying right and left on it. Same thing when I was in a Nissan mailing group.
if you go to the forums section, they have message boards for every car and car make, including one for prices paid and buying experiences http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/We...make=Honda&model=Accord&ed_makeindex=.ef006d2
Do you have a fax machine? Or you could do this through email. I hear that the best way to shop for cars is to email/fax the local dealerships with the exact specifications that you want and the price you're willing to pay (make it low). They'll send you a response with an offer and you keep playing the dealerships off each other until you arrive at a price no one will beat. I haven't done it personally, but I figure it's worth a try as you're not physically doing much more than sending emails out.
