So i have been looking for a car for the past year and half. Since we only had 2 cars for 3 people since my sister moved out of town it has been hard. I have a 2001 4runner i bought new and gave that to my mom to drive becuase our other car is a manual and she can't drive it. This past friday I was doing some of my daily searches for cars when i cam across the gem and got an amazing deal on it. It was owned by an older lady who just bought a new BMW 650.

I am the proud owner of a 2001 BMW 540i w/sport package. This car has been completly pampered and is in unbelievable shape. They were asking 20,750 for it and i managed to get it for only $18,000. It has only 49,000 miles on it, Fully loaded with every option you can get on this car except for the parking assistant. Only thing I have to get used to is the amount of power this car has and the swallowing of gas that it does...glad gas is a company expense :)

I haven't had a chance to wash it because of the weather and take some nice pictures so these are the pics from the ad.

    2001 BMW 540i

    Sport Package
    Premium Package
    Cold Weather Package
    Comfort Seats
    Navigation
    Power Sun Shades
    Heated Seats
    Dual Climate Control
10 Speaker Bose Stereo w/ DSP

Thought i would share my joy with the rest of the BBS....

nice color. interior looks very well-kept. i'm no longer a bmw guy though....too many bad personal experiences with upkeep.... but I definitely still see the attraction to performance and style.

Great deal, what a steal :). Too bad it's not a manual but then again I made the same mistake too.

Well i have always driven manual cars. It does have the steptronic but it's not the same. I think with this car it's a bit easier becasue of the fact that my girlfriend, mom or anyone can drive it if i drink or something like that...it gives me a bit of convience that way.

Yeah i got a great deal. My friend is a dealer and he was like you can get 22,000 right now for it if you want. Then he saw the car and was like nevermind..keep it.

Haha for some reason I thought this was gonna be about David Carr buying a used car. Coincidently, I've heard in the past that he does own an M5. Congrads on the car, my mom has owned a 2000 540 w/ the M-sport package since '99. It's had some problems here and there with the transmission and alignment issues that have resulted in expensive bills, but overall its a nice car and very fast.

We have been in the market for a new car to replace it, but there aren't a lot of sedans out there that have impressed us much knowing that we'll only get about 15k on the trade in and new this car was like 50k.

In my opinion BMW's manuals are the easiest to drive. I taught my girl in one day how to drive one. Smooth as butter. Thanks MOMENTUM for the loaner :)

Definitely i had a 540i loaner auto once. crazy fast enough. I was just making a comment about how easy the manual is on a bmw.

Last thing i'm sure you'd want though is to wake up from your drunkeness in the car with your sister and mom who jumped out and forgot about you in the backseat and forgot to hit the parking brake.

Sweet ride man, congrats! I just bought a new car myself last week, a 2007 Altima 3.5 SE.

Are you actually gonna be up at live on a Friday tonight? I've gone up there a few times recently, but you haven't been there. Let me know, I'll try to stop by.

Yeah I am going to be here tonight...if you want to swing by with the rest of the crew to have some drinks and chill. It's been a while since we did a patron shot.

Congrats on the new car as well...i like thos altimas a lot...need to have a drink to it.

Lol..been working hard this past year and half saving up every penny i could lol...doesn't just come to me...i wish it did...as far as the steal goes...definently take your time and look every day. That's what i have been doing. Try to find a private seller that took care of the car and work a deal. Don't rush into any car. Im glad i turned down lesser cars, just because i needed one.

Love my lil Bimmer. Congrats on yours.

BTW, why do you have to block out the license plate?

I guess for anyone that would want to do a reverse lookup and find a way to get all your information. I'm sure there a lot of other bad reasons.
