So 2 weeks ago at my apt complex parking lot, someone backs out into the side of my car as I was driving by. It left a huge scratch and dent along the whole side of my car. As it turns out the lady is the property manager of the complex and she said she just didn't see my car. She admits fault and says she doesn't want to go through her insurance because her deductible is high and she just recently put another claim through. So she says to get estimates from any shop to get it fixed and she'll just give me a check for it. I get her info, pretty much just name and number since she is the property manager there.

The next day I get a quote for about $1480 to fix the damage, and bring it to her personally to her office. She signs the paper stating she agrees to pay in full, but in 2 weeks...I agree and that's that.

2 weeks go by and I call her office to claim my check. Apparently she no longer is employed at the office and was let go 4 days before I called. Thinking ok I have her cell number, so I'll just contact her that way. But no, she won't pick up or return any of my calls.

So now I'm at the point to where I want to file a small claims report to take her to court. Problem is I don't know where she lives now since she had moved out of the apartment complex. I could keep leaving messages, but it really seems to do no good. Need some constructive advice and not really the type along the lines of "you should have called the police, or you should have gotten her insurance anyways." It's already too late to do all that and besides she was the property manager, didn't think she would up and leave like that. Thanks in advanced for help!

Send her a text and say that if she doesn't get back with you, you will be forced to get a lawyer. And don't forget to ask if you can tap that ass.

    Report it to your insurance.
