Cubby' killed, singer charged Country star allegedly shot captive bear in hunting scam http://www.twincities.com/mld/pioneerpress/15282711.htm So this guy decides he wants to prove how "cool" he is buy buying a captive bear, releasing it in a fenced in lease, then "hunting" it down. On top of this, he records and edits it to make it look like it was a fair hunt. Can we now hunt him down and record it?
Gentry appeared Tuesday in federal court in connection with the killing of a tame black bear that federal officials say he bought, shot in an enclosed pen with a bow and arrow, and then tagged as if it had been killed in the wild. What a flaming douche. Hey ever'body! I kil't me a bear! I'm a real man now! GIT R DUN!!
I guess he's still pissed off because Brooks and Dunn has been kicking their asses for the past 10 years at the CMAs, and he decides to take his frustrations out on a defenseless bear...
Those canned hunts are pathetic. I saw footage of Gerald McRainey (you know, TV's "Major Dad") in one, and he came across as such a massive tool. Nothing like killing game after it's been shocked in the neck by a security tag.
canned hunts are bad, but there was no hunting involved w/ this douchebag. he shot it in the cage. dick cheney's quail hunts are canned - they let them out of the cage and you shoot. the poor bear didnt even get a head start. i hope this "sportsman" gets the max punishment. that purdy mouth and rosy cheeks will make him really popular in prison.
I know he's been on pheasant hunts like this - in Pennsylvania iirc - but I haven't seen anything about his quail hunting in Texas. Any links? Not sure why you'd need to pen-release quail in South Texas, little buggers are everywhere most years. I hope they throw the book at these guys, btw. Make a freakin' example.
Here's the deal: Either hunt for an animal, or buy it at a grocer. These "pretend" hunts are about the most r****ded thing I've ever seen. The Nuge should deliver this guy's sentence.
Are you freaking kidding me, did you sleep through the entire "Dick Cheney Shot a Guy" incident? Or maybe you just purposely didn't pay any attention to it??? Anyways, if you look up anything about it, you'll see that it was a canned hunt. It has nothing to do with scarcity, it's about making the hunt easier.
Paid a bit of attention to it, yes. Find me a story about canned hunting in this instance. Quick bit o' googling came up with a bunch of stuff about his exploits in Penn, nothing concrete or in depth about the Texas thing. Was seriously curious about it, you can take your "purposely didn't pay attention" politish!t & stick it back where it came from.
Anyone want to take bets that even if the guy goes to prison, country radio stations decide this is a more forgivable offense than merely having a political opinion? I'm sure they will, and in fact, already are. The guy is a douche, but most people have known that for quite a while. Hopefully they make an example of this.
i try to give slack to folks, that "don't judge till you walk a mile in another mans shoes" thing, but I am having a hard time with this. what a douche.
i never said anything about texas. i was talking about the pennsylvania trip. it was quail though...sorry about that. he shot 70 of them. did he eat them all? http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/03343/249105.stm "Cheney shot more than 70 ringneck pheasants and an unknown number of mallard ducks. The birds were plucked and vacuum-packed in time for Cheney's afternoon flight to Washington, D.C." not as bad as what douchebag did to the bear, but what president cheney did was far from legitimate hunting.
I think we have a black bear roaming in the woods behind our house. Do you think we could get Shania Twain out here in a bikini real quick?
From what I read, the guy was told that everything was perfectly legal by his guide, who happened to be the guy he purchased the bear from. Still, that takes nothing away from the common sense he should have had, as well as the respect to the bear he should have had. With that said, I'll still listen to his music.
I desperately want this dude to be covered in bacon grease and dropped off on a river bank in Kodiak, AK and see how likes brown bear "sport." My father and grandfather and uncle all hunted with rifles and bows, but they would never participate in something so cruel and pointless. Responsible hunting can be a link to our heritage and act as a usefull tool to balance animal populations in the increasingly disappearing natural habitats they live in. The canned hunt bastards are the lowest of the low and deserve to be ostracized for life.
