The Jazz simply played great tonight. They weren't missing and they were all over the place.

The Rockets will bounce back, I have no doubt. I think they were a little surprised by the Jazz. Theres noway the Jazz can play like they did tonight everygame.. simply because no team can be that consistant on hitting their shots. But they do deserve a congrats for their excellent play.

All this hating on the Rockets already is stupid. Yes theres things I don't understand, for instance Padgetts minutes. I was literally screaming at the tv "Take Padgett out already, he is killing us" His rotations were terrible and he was foot slow the entire time he was in, not only that but many bad decisions were made by him on the offensive side. Basically to sum it up, Okur and Boozer abused him, more-so then anyone else that played.. yet he got all those minutes.

Anyways enough with the Padgett rant, the point is I know The Jazz played off the chain and the Rockets weren't ready, I have total faith they will bring it against the Mavs.

So keep your guys heads up, have faith, stop hatin' and lets all enjoy the season.

The Rockets will watch game tape, regroup and bounce back :D

Yup, this is just the way the board operates, sadly.

AGREEEEED. Guys this is just the first game. New players need to find there ways into the rotation and the flow of the team. Jazz played great tonight. We gotta stay positive so enough with all the pay outs and rubbish comments about TMAC Rafer n JVG....Its the FIRST game of a LONG SEASON :D

First the board is too high and now we're too low. Heck yes we'll bounce back.

I saw the score of the game while I was over at my brother's place. I assumed everyone on the board would overreact horribly. I prayed I was wrong. I wasn't.

Just a few of the things I've read: Van Gundy is a terrible coach, Battier can never work at power forward, Rafer sucks, T-Mac needs to take a back seat, Chuck Hayes sucks, Snyder needs to come off the bench, Bonzi is too fat.

Pop a valium and shut the hell up, haters. It's ONE GAME.

I think the big thing with it tonight is that most of us came into the game thinking that the Rockets would just breeze through with an easy win. Not many people actually realize that the Jazz are a legitimate playoff team (actually, many experts have the Rockets and Jazz meeting in the first round of the playoffs). Couple that with the hate of the Jazz around these parts, and you'll see that somewhere there's got to be a scapegoat.

To be fair though, Battier cannot guard someone like Boozer. Let's just be realistic.

I acknowledge utah performed well, if not great. But we did get within striking distance near the end, and could have stolen it. And I guarantee utah will not be able to maintain this level throughout the season :)

And seriously, what in the bloody world was JVG on to have so much faith in Scott bloody Padgett? I swear JVG is starting to get on my nerves... I need Phil to give me some of that zen **** to calm me down... and coach the Rox :)

Not sure if we are going to win in the next match. I am anticipating the official excuse "we lack intensity in the first quarter, and we are not going to win if we don't put effort for the whole game" again.

That is true, except we didn't have many options once Battier got into foul trouble. They could very easily abuse Novak also. Really we have no one to matchup with 2 bigs like Okur and Boozer, but most games we will be better off because no stupid fouls by Battier. Its a work in progress. Give them around 12 games to get adjusted and watch them roll. I HOPE :D.

Look at it this way, the Rockets won their first game last year. It sucks but it doesn't mean it's the end of the season.

Good topic. A nice change from all the bashing and hating and negativity around here after just one loss.

Yes, the Jazz really came out all guns firing. But they're still a Jerry Sloan-coached team after all, our team should have expected that.

And I truly believe JVG made the wrong starting choice today. Battier has NO CHANCE against a physical banger like Boozer who can also shoot the midrange J. This is one of the instances where I think starting Howard (*puts up flameshield*) would be better for the team, given that he can muscle Boozer much more than Battier can.

As for Mac shooting 8-24...well, the man hasn't played since the early part of the year, give him some time to adjust.

I believe we'll bounce back strong soon.

Did anyone watch the game? Battier was mostly matched up against Okur rather than Boozer as far as I can remember and Okur did not have a very good offensive game. Yao had Boozer for most of the time and left him open for some Js. And Boozer wasn't really muscling his way to his 22 points like Shaq for the most part, he made jumpers-- open Js and tough fadeaways. A beefier PF wouldn't have stopped his jumpers any better than a smaller one.

If there was any problems on D last night, it's lack of proper rotation against the jump shot and the early foul troubles handicapping the intensity of the defenders. They had to worry too much about not fouling to play their normal style.

Yes.....absolutely...the Jazz killed us with their mid range game.

The Rockets didn't help matters by missing so many Free throws either.

The Jazz played well, the Rockets look like a team in transition.

Tmac shot WAY too much.....WAY too much...

Told you all they would watch gametape, regroup and bounce back against the Mavs. ;)

I had so much faith I actually bet money on this game and won.. It was only 5$ but thats 5 more $ in my pocket
