Can't we just have Rudy replace C.Dawson as GM?

He already has the biggest input in player decisions anyway, and CD seems like a nice man but whenever he's interviewed, he just seems sort of clueless; it's a little embarassing I think. He's also getting up there in years and has had serious health issues of his own.

Doesn't it just seem appropriate that he should retire and restore a modicum of dignity to Rudy, who would also likely be better as GM than anythiing else at this stage?

Yes, at least they should somehow share tasks/titles.

I think Rudy's whole point was to get away from the daily grind. I can see him as the full time GM, but not for at least a year or so. I think he said he was going to stay on as a consultant so I am sure that he will indeed assist Dawson with the draft and trades.

I don't know, how much of a daily grind can it be if carroll dawson could do it with his heart troubles? It's not like people are calling him every single day 24/7, nothing compared to being coach.

I don't think RT wants that job. He has expressed disdain for cap-ology, and has little use for dealing with agents. I fully expect "the heart of a champion" to be transplanted within three years.

If Rudy was making the calls that brought us such wonderful deals as Cat, MoT, Rice and Norris then perhaps such a move would be a bad idea?????

by "Cat", you mean picking a 20 ppg scorer out of the second round of the draft where most guys don't even make it out of training camp? yeah that was horrible.

Rudy didn't negotiate those contracts, he focused on the talent side.

meant Cato's deal, not Mobley, my bad, forgot the O

basically if he didn't say, "Hey, this guy won't be motivated if you sign him for 7 years, or hey this guy isn't worth that much of our money," then there is not reason to promote him to GM. Besides, as someone already said he's not big with the capology, so let him scout for us instead.

    I have to admit,

MoTaylor, a powerforward who manages 1.02 pps, and Norris, who some call the poor mans Francis, are horrible players and are nearly untradable cause of their contracts. Maybe under another coach they will become more productive.

Neither is Carroll Dawson, hes an ex coach not a businessman, and it shows.

I'd prefer Rudy to Carroll hands down.

Carrol Dawson is responsible for the following handouts:

    - Kelvin Cato: 6 yrs, $42 million
    - Moochie Norris: 6 yrs, $22 million
    - Matt Maloney: 6 yrs, $18 million
    - Brent Price: 6 yrs, $15 million

but, he has worked some decent trades

    - Brent Price, Antoine Carr, Michael Dickerson, 2003 1st rounder for Steve Francis
    - Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins, and Brandon Armstrong for Eddie Griffin, considered #1 in class at the time
    - Kenny Thomas for James Posey
    - Shandon Anderson for Glen Rice (I'd rather pay Glen for 3 years than Shandon for 6)
...not to mention, almost stealing Damon Stoudamire from Toronto

Lets have Rudy replace Les. That'd be awesome. But oh, wait... that type of "change" only happens in the disney books.

I seen someone do that on the movie JackAss..... CD appeared in the movie.

The Francis trade and the Rice trade are the only ones I would've supported.
