I am sorry to all of the Mobley fans, but he needs a serious attitude adjustment! Dude has never known what the word pass means. He thinks it means, "Pass me the ball so I can make a highlight!?!". So far at camp as far as Mobley is concerned, it's not motion, it's me me me! Houston we have a problem. He has so much skill (offensively), but he doesn't seem to get the bigger picture. If anyone has an actual argument to this, I would love to hear it explained a different way. At this point though MOBLEY SUCKS! They should have gone after Redd. I don't think he would be screaming (like a little B!tCH) at his teamates for not letting him hog the ball!!! This is just what I believe.
Proof? I just read the Chronicle article on the motion offense. Mobley's already talking about how the offense will help HIM... It's all about HIM. He doesn't get it!
And some people say Mobley hatas do not exist. From the Chronicle today, <blockquote><hr> Feigen: Every player must be able to set and use screens and to catch passes on the move. "It's great," Mobley said. "We're moving on offense. It's hard to guard. When we start working it a lot, playing with it a lot, it will be a lot smoother with it. This is great. Now I'm catching people on the move. They can't double as fast. It's a lot better for me. You can't zone up on this one, and I can get into the seams."<hr></blockquote> This is exactly what I'd expect any shooter/slasher to say. This is exactly what I'd expect Boki to say and Ginnobili. Sure, he's focusing on his role in the new offense, but the first words out of his mouth to Feigen asking him about it was: "It's great. We're moving on offense." Why shouldn't he explain what he knows to Feigen. What he knows is the system makes it harder to guard anyone, and harder to zone anyone. Mobley is describing himself as an example. What, does Mobley have to be smart enough to know how this effects all the roles on the team. Based on your take, one would think Mobley told Feigen, "as long as the give me the ball in my spots for my regular points, then I'm fine with everyone else playing a new system." good grief.
Yawn all you want, but if you were as "old school" as you claim, you you wouldn't be so ignorant to the obvious.
Have you been at camp? Trying to be a leader and yelling at team mates doesn't sound that bad to me. In fact I want him to yell more. Mobley is one of the hardest working guys on the team and he has earned the right. Besides, where in the world did you hear that he yells at team mates for not passing him the ball. Did you ever stop to think that maybe a certain play is being run, and somebody didn't run it right. Maybe the play was for Cat to get the ball. I mean his is the "shooting gaurd."
broken record noob. got anything else to add? Nice to see you can judge a player's training camp performance based solely on a write-up of a couple of plays. Nice repeat thread btw.
I agree... I mean, look at this quote. "It's good for me. Regardless of the offense, I'll be able to contribute." Whoops... that was from Steve Francis. I guess we should replace him too... how dare he talk about his own game.
I think his screaming is great, and maybe it's not all about 'Get me the ball, you d.s.o.b.!' I see it as a sign of someone wanting to win, and from the very beginning being very vocal about getting things done right. And even if it does turn out to be ball-calling, it still turns out to be about execution, a good thing to get right. I've been hesitant with Mobley's seeming selfish play and quotes from the very beginning, but it's getting more difficult every year to get on the case of the hardest worker on the team (from what I've read) and the most vocal on the court about getting sh#$ done.
Oh, man. Believe is talking smack to OS. Some people have no respect. Believe...by the way it's not that obvious. Get a clue buddy.
btw: scolding Mickeal could easily be Mobley befriending him and pushing him. They are sleeping in dorms together right now and eating together, and talking bball all the time. We all know from several interviews with Mobley that he is a really good guy off the court and gets along with everyone. It is more likely he wants to help Mickeal make the team than he is worried about his touches in camp. We don't even have to discuss the leadership role of pushing rookies.
Who needs Rashard and KT threads? I knew we'd get back to normal and start b****ing about Mobley!! Strange how you are calling people ignorant, but you haven't been to camp and seen anything. Also, you are calling out a skilled positional player that is called upon to shoot the ball. How ignorant is that?? Mobley is simply providing one player's view of the offense as a whole and how he sees himself benefiting from it. I see nothing wrong with that.
Maybe Cat was yelling because he was still pissed off at Mickeal for eating his breakfast. Or maybe Mickeal put a door ding on Cat's car. Or maybe Mickeal said somethin' about Cat's mother. Or maybe...
I do not "hate" anyone. I have supported Mobley since he came to the rockets. I just have grown tired of watching him play. I would not make a complete assesment of a player on some article. I felt this way before the article. Before training camp. I continue to have hope that he will evolve into a team player. Like I said, he definitely has skills. Just at this point, he has not shown a desire to play a team role. I never said he was not a hard worker. He has never been out of shape. To my knowledge he has never been a problem to the team off the court or in the locker room. I just get tired of watching him dribble the ball when there are four other players standing there.
no no, I'm not a "hata." You don't have to "hate" Mobley to be a "hata." "Hata" see only the worst in Mobley, and actually search for it, and invent it. "No, I'm not a hata." btw: wouldn't we expect Shandon Anderson to say the same thing..."It's a lot better [offense] for me." Given that Shandon has said on several occassions that the previous offense was not good for me. I am not a spot up shooter. Also, you'd expect Pippen to say the same thing. <b>oh, and lookie here, Rice said it should help his game</b> <blockquote><hr> "If there is one thing I've always tried to get away from is being labeled as a standstill shooter," Rice said. "Throughout my career, I ran off screens. The difference is huge. Anytime you get movement, you're going to be fluid. It's going to be easier to be involved than just standing out there, waiting for the ball to be kicked out all the time." <hr></blockquote>Rice is describing how it will help his role versus LA, Knicks, and our system, where he was a standstill shooter, and complained about it. believe, hatas suck. Everyone on this team is talking about how it is good for them, and the team as well....including Mobley, "<i>When <b>we</b> start working it a lot, playing with it a lot, we will be a lot smoother with it. <b>This is great.</b></i> any other hatas out there who want to join believe. come out come out whereever you are.
I woke up this morning feeling a little...empty. But now I've found another "bash Cat" thread and well, I still feel empty. Is the title of your thread aimed at yourself?
I'm assuming Believe has never watched a journalist ask questions of a player. The vast majority of them when it comes to something like a new offense go like this: So, how do you feel like your game will work in the new offense? or How has the new offense effected your game? ............ Besides, why do you think they call the position "shooting" guard?
