Do a search for a MacBeth post and start reading, you will fall asleep before you get to the end or the point of the post. I know cheap shot...but had to be done. DD
actually, ive had trouble sleeping the past year and i have a pretty good technique. my problem was that I couldn't stop thinking about just general random things and worries. anyway, what worked is that i keep on saying "DARK" or "BLACK" in my head, cleared my mind and pictured darkness. im usually out in less than five minutes.
Man that doesn't sound good at all. Have you seek care from a qualified professional? I might think that you have since you have a sleeping disorder. Stress and worries are the cause or part of sleeping disorder.
This site just kills me. I feel a bit tired and need to get to sleep so I can study for a test tomorow before my class at noon. Anyways, the site kills me because I feel like I only spent 5min or so reading posts and I keep telling my self 1 more min then I will sleep, and it has been 45min....and counting.
That's very similar to what I do - I just picture a pool at night - dark and flowing, but sometimes there's moonilight reflecting too... it works though. Very tranquil it is.
I think I might've fallen asleep at 3am or later. All I know is I had all my electronics off by midnight and it didn't help at all.
...clown'll eat me. Sorry, had to be done. I fell asleep around midnight (only because I hadn't slept in the past 2 days) and I still ended up waking up at 3:33am.
Chamomile Tea does the trick for me. One cup made with two teabags and I am out cold within 30 minutes.
I woke up this morning at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep either. For some reason when I exercise late at night, I wake up early in the morning. This seems counter intuitive. You would think that exercise would make me more tired, hence requiring more sleep.
All the "sleep doctors" I dealt with leading up to my sleep apnea surgery 3 years ago told me that you do not want to exercise within 2 hours of falling asleep at night. It is much better (if you can) to wake up early and exercise in the morning.
