I was watching E! yesterday and they had these sexy women going around Cannes doing interviews while in scanty dresses. There were like 4 or 5 of them. All of them were American women. They went to this yacht dock (movie parties) and tried to get on the ships and they were denied or kicked off. The American women being defiant, flashed the party crowd. The crowd ignored them. Heh heh...

Now, France and Italy are not know for being prude. So why the rebuff?

I know why. Crudeness. Because Americans are crude and pornographic for the sake of being crude and pornographic.

Europeans are sensual and sexy that has entwined itself within their lives. It's part of their culture.

In America we are repressed and have to get "drunk" to let lose of our inhibitions. Americans are uncomfortable taking about sex, thus they need alcohol to "let go.". While Europeans are comfortable talking about it.

That's why we have shows like, "Girls gone wild" in the USA. But in the Europe all you would need would be a tape called, "A day and night on a French beach."

One is tasteless, and the other is tasteful.

One is "a night drunk," the other is "part of everyday life."

    Late-night european soft core p*rn rocks! :D

Not to derail your thread, but if anyone ever goes to Cannes, there is this bad ass carnival at the end of the pier. It is the most freakin dangerously fun stuff. The ferris wheel has no safety doors; come to think of it, it had no doors at all. So 2 open sides, your seats, oh yeah, and the carts shake in the wind like there's no tomorrow. There's also a fun house. More like a "20 ways to slip and crack open your skull" house. I loved it, but there is no freakin way the fun house would pass any safety standards here in the U.S.

It's not that cut and dry.

    It's more like:
    European worldly (culturally), generally.
    American shallow (culturally), generally.

It's been said we're a young country (300 years old).

Yeah, we're still "kids" as a country. And we act like it sometimes.

You type the word "shallow" as if it's a bad thing...

Why exactly are Euros considered more worldly? I mean the only reason they speak so many languages is because they have to. They only know about other cultures because they are right next door to one another. I mean only 60 years ago they were killing each other in Western Europe. Western Europe still doesn't really accept Eastern Europe as "European". Yes Europe has a longer history than us, but I've never understood why they are considered more worldly. Is it just because they are more open with sex over there?

You answered your own questions. And, they know about other countries outside of Europe as well.
