Who are your candidates for players that make great comebacks this year? Of course, the obvious is McGrady. What others do you think will have big comebacks this year after subpar performances in 2005-06? Edit: Sorry, I probably put this in the wrong forum.
Amare? I hate to say it but I think we are going to be underwhelmed by Amare. Just haven't gotten good vibes about him. And there is nothing coming out of Phoenix. You would think if he was raring to go that it would be all over the place.
TMAC!!! Another guy on my list would be Darko Milicic. He wasnt injured or anything, but warming the bench in DET is pretty much the same. In Orlando, he didnt play enuf mins, but next season i expect him to get the startin role.
i do not think Millicic can win the Comeback award, since he never was there so he can not come back. He could win most improved player(if he develops)
TMac is a good bet, even though we're all homers here. I don't think Amare will ever be the same, ala Ralph Sampson to a lesser degree. I could see Stevie doing well somewhere else, and I hope the Knicks really do trade him.
Yea i choose Tmac for the award too. I was just answerin jopatmc's question with that comment about Darko. What others do you think will have big comebacks this year after subpar performances in 2005-06?
I have some in mind. What about supposed bad boys/team cancers like Marbury? I personally think he is going to have a bust out season with Zeke behind him, at least statistically. All his teammates may hate him but I think he is still going to put up like 26 ppg with 8 assists. Others?
Consider Marbury's one on one skills, and the way the league is officiated these days, I could definitely see that. But how will Steve Francis and Jamal Crawford coexist with him?
Well, considering that the NBA doesn't have a comeback player of the year, I doubt that he's in the running...
