I just got back from watching fireworks. Well technically it was Canada Day yesterday now, but go Canada! *runs and hides*
What is Canada Day about? I'm way too lazy to Wiki this at this hour. I thought for a second you wrote, Canada Dry Day.
I didn't even know it was a real day. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RsONo6Ycn5I&hl=en"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RsONo6Ycn5I&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> I am not your friend buddy!!!
Canada is a groovy country, except for the freezin' a$$ cold in winter, and this is proof! A Music Festival in Paradise! August 1, 2, 3 • 2008 Big Mountains - Small Village - Floating Stage Welcome to the 17th Annual Kaslo Jazz Etc. Summer Music Festival Every August long weekend in Kaslo, BC stunning vistas, great acoustics and superb musicians combine to create the Kaslo Jazz Etc Summer Music Festival. The unique floating stage rests just offshore a little, sandy beach on Kootenay Lake. 10 great places to get in tune, be outdoors! … the vibe of Kaslo is intimately amazing … with pristine wilderness as a backdrop, the musicians are perched on the edge of Kootenay Lake while onlookers swim around the stage, dance in the sand or recline on blankets laid in a natural, green amphitheater … → USA TODAY, July 6, 2007 I guess I'll use this thread to make my annual appeal to ClutchFans members to treat themselves to an amazing time. Want to be around beautiful chicks, groovy guys, and a town that is more like a trip into the late '60's than it has any right to be? Want an excellent adventure along with jazz, blues, and "world music" (Brazilian, Africa... you know, etc.!) in the heart of the Kootenay Mountains and on Kootenay Lake, which is a cross between the Swiss Alps and the Norwegian Fiords? I could continue and tell you about going to the wrap party (find out where it is and don't miss it!), where I danced with 3 lovely foxes at the same time, there being a shortage of guys. (at least there was a shortage 15 years ago, when I came up, sans significant other, for the second festival, but I won't. ) One of my best friends started this about, well, must have been 17 years ago. He's a native Texan, who came to Kaslo, British Columbia in Canada in the 1970's on a pleasure trip with another great friend of mine and found himself swamped with beautiful chicks, thought it was incredibly beautiful, and decided to stay. Check it out! Only about 3,000 tickets sold per day. It's groovy! http://www.kaslojazzfest.com/v2/
From a great Canadian <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/h1CwZgb_iAI&hl=en"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/h1CwZgb_iAI&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I did - only because the one day I really needed to call my Canadian coworkers, they're out of the office on some nancy holiday! Just kidding. Happy Canada Day
Has anyone here ever lived in Toronto? I'm going there for work soon..how is it compared to a large US city (ie: Chicago, where I'm coming from) -- Other than way less crime, how do these two cities compare?
Thank you so much for Jim Carey, Paul Schaffer, Avril Lavigne, John Candy, Michael J. Fox, William Shatner, et. al. Thank you for so many Simpsons' references. I once met a Canadian lady at Disneyland Resort in L.A. She and her daughter had driven all the way across from Montreal. She said "eh?" so many times, I didn't find it funny anymore.
FIXED. I knew I forgot about our token Canadian... thanks... but I disagree... not all of us say "huh"; I didn't even tease the lady, and she was saying "eh?" after every gosh darn sentence. Does every United Statesian person you meet say "huh" at the end of their sentences?
