Even though the writer (Kelly Scaletta) is a Rockets fan, it is somewhat ironic, considering an overwhelming majority of the media hated the Paul acquisition. You know, "James and Chris can't co-exist", "there's ONLY ONE BALL to go around", to Screamin' A calling Paul "the biggest LOSER" of the off-season. Even more ridiculous when they ignore that they called the Rockets a "super team" last season with James doing it by himself (for justifying not giving MVP to James). And, let's not forget that Paul didn't even make the All-Star team and may not be on an All-NBA team this season.

Yes and that's because we are not a superteam like those guys. We are a different type of super team.

What we are is more Lebron related than Warriors related. We essentially have 2 Lebrons on this team, and one of them is better than Lebron James. That's why we're destroying everyone while the Cavs have been meh in an atrocious conference with essentially two different teams (pre and post trade deadline). Lebron has been great, but his time is over.

If you have 2 superstars surround them with great depth and very good role players, it's absolutely possible.

So Morey was wrong when he thought we needed three stars just to contend, let alone being a super team.

 

HOWEVER, Morey was right when he said, "Rockets have closed the gap."
