If Yao does that, McGrady will want out of Houston. I don't what to see a repeat of what went down in Orlando happen here. I can guarantee you that.
I'm pretty sure if Yao was ever to do that he would have to feel as if he was the leader but for now Yao still thinks he is behind T-Mac and respects him too much..
Mcgrady is just a wuss right now. What do you expect from Battier, Rafer... Scola is a hustler with no athleticism and he is not playing to his advantage at all just getting athletically beat. Mcgrady is supposed to be a leader but right now he is just continuing his legacy of just leaning on lame excuses while letting everyone down.
He knows what people are saying about him. It's pretty much everywhere in this town. This was an article posted on Houston Chronicles website about how McGrady came out strong against the Warriors to answer his critics, which he did, but is now on another in season vacation. December 13, 2008 Mac shoots back: McGrady smacks critics, Warriors The pain might never be gone completely. Tracy McGrady can live with this pain. He can play with it, and play well. That's the deal and he is willing to accept it. It turns out he could live with the pain of derision, too. Before he sat out the past 16 days, he was in more pain than he could play with. Or probably more accurately he was in more pain than he play well with. Doctors believed if he kept playing, the leg would grow stronger, the pain would decrease and his level of play would increase. That was one way to go about it, but it was not the way McGrady wanted. When it flared in Oklahoma City, he had seemed frustrated to still be dealing with the pain so far into the season. He kept playing, but seemed ambivalent about playing his way back for some time. Then limped through another single digit game in Miami and shut it down, taking a few weeks off, and then coming back on Friday, encouraged by how well he felt but seething at those that doubted him. On Friday morning, he delivered a message to his critics. "People question my toughness," he said. "They don't know what I went through just to make it through the season last year and through the playoffs. My knee was jacked up, very jacked up. All the ... talking, it's quite funny to me. If people really knew what I went through to even suit up for the playoffs last year, that's credit I don't get for trying to go out and win for my team and for this organization. "I can't stop (the criticism.) I'm not going to go in a dark closet and hide by any means. It's funny that people want to come up with their own assumptions of me. They don't know what I go through. Yeah, I've missed some games. I missed a lot of games. It's not like I'm trying to go out there and hurt myself. That's how the body is sometimes. It breaks down. You have injuries. It happens. "I came back too early. That's what people don't understand. All the bickering about, 'Oh, he's out again.' No, I never should have come back. It's like damn if I do, damn if I don't. "Had I never come back and improved through the regular season, none of this talk would be going on. But because I wanted to do something for my team, getting us off to a great start, because we had a tough schedule, that's what I wanted to do, felt like was needed and played through 15 games. I got us off to a good start, 10-5 when I left and sat out. Then, when I left, everybody talked like it was a different injury or something. You know, I looked at the schedule and it was pretty favorable with me being out and my guys going out and winning some ballgames without me. So I took a couple weeks off to rehab, get my knee strong, and now, I'm back." By Friday night, he delivered another message, going for 24 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the Rockets win over the Warriors. The message, however, was not that he is back to being the old McGrady, and will soon chase giant numbers when not pushing toward near triple doubles. McGrady did not limp around, but neither was he flying. He showed, however, that he doesn't have to. Just as he might never been entirely pain free, he'll never be the Magic McGrady. But he is such a sharp passer, and has such a good feel for getting his shot and drawing fouls (and he did not shrink in his time away), he can always key an offense. He has to adjust, and perhaps has. "That was told to me, that I won't fully recover, but we'll see," he said. "Right now, I feel good. I still have a little pain in my knee, but it's nothing like it was a couple weeks ago." Now that he got his little rant about his critics off his chest, he can forget about the image. He can forget about the old days. It might be time to forget about the comeback from his knee surgery. He can get on with the next stage of his career. It began Friday in Oakland, and got off to a good start. Posted by Jonathan Feigen at 01:26 AM | Comments (34)
Will never happen. I'm not saying that he was the right coach for us in all aspects, but when we pushed out JVG, we lost the only leader the team had; the only guy willing to lean on McGrady and keep his effort level up. Unless we replace that, McGrady will continue to be more and more comfortable marching to his own drummer.
For sometime, I have wondered if Adelman has the right temperament for this group of players. Our coach and our team often look like they are about to doze off, together.
you're right! we should start a new forum and check the race of each poster. there should be at least a 70% white ratio of course and the word yao shall be band. sheeshh.. get over your issue. until clutch says so, you have no entitlement over a member from china nor are you are responsible for "saving it". if you're annoyed by their post, don't read them or leave, simple as that.
You know, that in that locker room after every game a player does bad, EVERYONE in there will call out that player. It's not going to be like, MAN YOU SUCK STEP IT UP NEXT GAME. It's gonna be, "If you don't play your best, that trophy won't be ours." That right there is the ultimate "fire under ass" statement.
