This was game seven, and Ron Artest was the reason they won. Kobe had one shot in the 4th. In game seven, I don't think Jordon or Hakeem would should 6/24, and 0-6 from three.

If he gets another ring, you can bet he will be called the greatest player to ever walk the earth. True basketball fans know he's not. He's the greatest sports player today.

Actually goodbug's already calling the greatest now. No need to wait for a 6th ring...

If Ron was the greatest then we should have one the series last year.

Kobe Bryant deserves to be called the greatest in the league right now. This Lebron James talk is nonsense. Kobe can shoot really poorly but still play an effective game by distributing and rebounding. People who don't think so take him too lightly.

Only Kobe nutriders call him the greatest. He's one of the top players in the NBA (prob. top-10) and his titles & longevity put him in the top-20 or so historically. However, he's really overrated by casual fans. Performances like tonight's are pretty commonplace for him and he's been blessed to have good teammates to bail him out time and time again.

Frankly, Kobe was disappointing in one of the biggest games of his career.

Tonight's game 7 performance definitely drops him a few spots on the all time greatest players list.

Yeah this was ridiculous. Kobe had a decent series, but it was nothing out of this world. This game was just **** and didn't help his "legacy" any.

One of the best, but of course not the best. Tonight's game didn't really help his cause to be considered the greatest ever.
Was second best when he played with Shaq....and if you could pair him with a few of the greats, he'd probably be the Pippen in those relationships. But just a few people....he's still pretty damn good.

Kobe's career average in the playoffs is still dwarfed by MJ.

    Even considering the hand-checking.

You could see this performance coming. The C's knew Kobe was going to want to have a "career defining" game so they doubled him, knowing he'd still take bad shots. He shot 40% AGAIN in the Finals-- even last year when everyone thought he was all that, he shot 42% I think. If he'd just use his teammates better he'd be so much more complete. Gasol is practically unstoppable against smaller players, so when, for instance, Baby is guarding him he should be getting the ball everytime down.

If I am not mistaken (someone correct me if I am), Hakeem and Jordan are the only two players whose playoff numbers were better than their regular season numbers. And we are not talking average regular season numbers here either.

I really doubt that. I'm sure Jerry West and James Worthy have better playoff numbers than reg. season. Prob. Larry Bird and possibly Magic too.

Why does it matter?? Let's stop talking about greatest of all time and let's worry about the great players this league has seen. There are many great players who have played in this league, that being said, let's appreciate them as a whole.

Guys, I don't think Kobe is that stupid. He knew tonight was coming. The C's play defense on Kobe specifically and are willing to let guys like Ron Artest shoot for the gamble. It takes some brains to be able to play out of that one.

24 shots is a lot to put up against a defense geared to stop you. Not the best shot selection but at least he was bailed out by Joey so his stats looked ok in the end.
