    From the 2024 draft?

Not saying Reed Sheppard is a bust yet, because I'm a Rocket's fan and I'm still holding out hope but if I had to testify before a court on what I've seen thus far I would definitely say.....HE'S A BUST!

The Rockets are close and we could have used a Castle, Kel'el Ware, Dillingham or Edey; another defender, scorer or big who could produce off the bench!

And with the recent 6 Game slide maybe if we had a Castle who was contributing 18ppg his last 5 games, a Kel'el Ware who has been avg 20 ppg, 10 rbg, 2 blk since December, or a Dillingham who has been killing it since he came back from the G-League, maybe we would still be 2nd in the West.

Not putting everything on Reed but SOMETHING, would have been better than NOTHING!

The SL or G-League won't cut it, I want to see him produce in a NBA game. If he doesn't show anything by next Pre-season....What say you?

Woulda coulda shoulda. No need to look back and say what if. The Rockets really shouldn’t have had the third pick anyway. No team hits on all their picks. The Rockets have had plenty of picks the last few years to rebuild, and rebuild they have. Most people think the Rockets have done well with their picks over the last few years, so no need to focus on one pick in one draft. And, we have another first round pick this year.

If people recall, the 3rd pick was described as 'found money'. Similar to ATL, which jumped up 9 spots to get the #1 pick. We jumped +6 spots to #3 with the Nets pick.

Doesn't mean the FO should waste it, but it was a weak draft and team wanted a possible point guard and shooting, he fit that archetype.

LOL. Did you just say that the numbers he ACTUALLY put up are not true?

True. It was found money. I just think they made the wrong purchase.

If you were paying attention you would have noticed everybody in the business saying "this is a weak draft, the top of the draft class is very poor, there will probably be some good players scattered through this draft but nobody really knows for sure who they are". Expecting to get a franchise-altering player out of this draft was always a fool's hope.

And no, I don't think any of the other players from this class have been difference-makers yet. The only player really producing at "high-end starter" level was Jared McCain, and he's out for the season with injury and was picked #16 (a ton of other teams also passed on him, nobody knew he'd be this good).

All of the other players have been producing, at best, at "good bench player" levels. Would that be nice to have versus Reed's non-production? Sure, but talking like it's going to make or break the franchise is just silly.

Their might still be a chance with Reed. Everyone misses on some picks. We have six very good young players even if Reed was a miss.

I think you are more ENAMORED with numbers, stats, etc. And it's the same thinking that lead to the Rockets picking Reed Sheppard.....everything was based upon his stats, numbers, etc., rather than going off of the simple EYE TEST.

COMMON SENSE, is always the best analogy when coming to any conclusion.

If you look at Reed, his stature, overall quickness, streaky numbers, and the fact that he did not have superior handles which is MUST for any special player of his size, anyone could tell that he should have NOT been the pick! But I'm sure the Rocket's FO, just like YOURSELF, looked at the numbers, which lead to the WRONG CONCLUSION.

Funny. And for the record, passing on MJ didn't kill the Blazers; the Rockets also passed on MJ that draft. We just picked the right guy and Portland picked an injury waiting to happen.

What does this have to do with you just making up random crap about Ware? Just admit you were wrong and move on. I can say Reed is averaging 20 ppg, doesn’t make it any more true for him as it does for ware.
