I mean the way they execute in the halfcourt is almost flawless. They dont run and gun like the Suns, but they make so many S/R's, and cuts, and post passing that it shows you can still be a high scoring team without running like Phoenix. They are physical as hell, which is the type of teams we have struggled against. They have WAY more depth than us. Aside from Tmac and Yao, they have an advantage at EVERY other position, plus the biggest one of Deron Williams. Boozer is just gonna own, Okur is gonna be impossible to guard with Yao and Deke, their bench is gonna own, plus they have athletic guys like Milsap that will give them extra possesions. THey have a guy like AK to put on Tmac. I have to say, I am worried; and they definitely look like the better team right now

they are a half court team and rocket is also a half court team and in terms of playoff experience, both are pretty much the same too so its up to yao and tmac

    Yes, we can.

    1. Sloan traditionally doesn't like to double opponents. I imagine he'll change that plan during the series, but that makes you wonder how good his "double superstars" strategy is. Some coaches have better plans for doubling superstars, others don't. I think Sloan fits into the latter catagory. Meaning, with that fact, and the fact that Tmac kicks it up a notch in the playoffs. You have to give us the edge in that regard.

    2. The defense should be fine. The only offense we have historically had trouble with is run and gun. The real problem should be how can we handle both Boozer and Okur at the same time? Yao has to gaurd one of them. Boozer can put Yao in foul trouble, Okur will make him come out on him. Advantage Utah.

    3. The rebounding situation will be what wins the game. You have 2 of the top rebounding teams in the NBA facing off. Whoever can control the boards will have a huge edge in the series.

    4. How well will Yao play on offense? Utah has multiple people they can throw at him. This may prove to be a non-issue, but still.

    Two reasons we can;

Utah is terrible at guarding star swingmen from what I've seen. AK-47 is way too slow and everyone else on that roster is either too soft, too short or too slow.

If my memory serves correctly, the Jazz were even down to using Derek Fisher on Mac in that blowout game.

Second reason...you say its impossible to guard Okur for Yao or Deke? I'm not going to get too much into that; most I'll do is speculate that since Okur is a perimeter-player who isin't too fast...Yao won't have too much trouble. Yao has like what...7 inches on Okur+wingspan?

But the real reason I'm talking about this is the reversal of that statement. Yao should also be impossible to guard (Yeah, Okur on Yao ) for Utah unless they zone/double/triple...which just compunds thier trouble with Mac.

Relax. Everything will be alright. I'd prefer the rockets face the Jazz in the first round because we beat them pretty convincingly. The season opener loss to them was bogus. We didn't have a set rotation and it was a mistake to put Shane at the 4 spot. That is why Boozer had a big night. T-Mac will once again feast on the Jazz since they don't have an answer for him. Especially now that Kirilenko is a subpar defender this year. Throwing Yao in the mix will make things even better.

postseason's a whole new story. Plus they get ALL the calls when they play in the Delta Center, so Yao will surely be in foul trouble alot of times.

I don't think a Jaxx series will be easy, but we certainly stand a better chance against them then Dallas, Pho or SA.

It sucks that we are weakest at PG and PF, where the teams ahead of us are at their strongest. Then again, none of them should be able to stop T-Mac or Yao. It should be an interesting postseason.

Deron Williams is still nursing a strained groin. The Jazz are considering using an NBDL point guard as a back-up point guard. That's good news for us.

Why wouldn't we be able to beat them? We did it before, makes sense we can do it again.

They are 40-19. Which means they are pretty good. Don't underestimate them.

We CAN beat Utah, but they can beat us too...and with Homecourt....the money would be on Utah.

Of the 4 teams that will be contenders- Dallas, Phoenix, SA, Utah- I think our chances are best with Utah- if we execute. Unlike others I am not too worried about Phoenix- Playoffs are a whole different style with breaks in between. The teams to worry are Dallas and San Antonio- Dallas because of their Depth and SA because they have been together and won it all before.
