I mean, this is called "Clutch City", and the comets have a hell of a lot more clutch that the Rockets. I think Clutch fans should post about the Comets. It's our duty as Houstonians. ------------------
For a good source of Comets info, try http://www.allsports.com/wnba/comets/ . ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
Unfortunately I did go to a Comets game last year. And let me say I've never been more bored in my life. Well beside the time I went to an IMAX with my girlfriend. Well both IMAX and Comets are equally boring. ------------------ Now introducing the starting lineup for your Houston Rockets: Starting at Center, from Wake Forets TIM DUNCAN...
Damn, Rockets03, I loved both those things you thought were boring. I guess I'm just boring! ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
Well I used to like the comets, but I dont know why its just not fun anymore. Hey if they win another championship then I'll be happy for them, but if they lose I couldnt care less. As for IMAX, I dont know how any guy can stand it. I saw that stupid Sigfried and Roy thingy and fell asleep halfway through. ------------------ Now introducing the starting lineup for your Houston Rockets: Starting at Center, from Wake Forets TIM DUNCAN...
I know I'm being instrumental in turning this thread WAY away from the Rockets (and Comets), but the 3D IMAX in Galveston is very cool--especially, "In to the Deep." This isn't your parent's 3D. You'll see little kids reaching out in front of them to touch stuff they think is right in front of them--it's that realistic. Now, I'll admit, most of the current programming is designed less for the actual content and more to showcase the technology, but I really think you'd change your opinion if you saw some of the 3D IMAX shows in Galveston. I also have to admit--and this is no slam again gay men--but I doubt I'd enjoy an IMAX show dedicated to Sigried and Roy either. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
There is a new Micheal Jordan IMAX film coming out. Some of you basketball fans might enjoy that. ------------------ Really a member since March 1999.
Ummmmmmmmmm. No. ------------------ "I would like to thank... everyone... for their contriboootions" Hakeem accepting his MVP award at the 1999-2000 NBA Finals.
I vote yes, just so I won't have to read any posts on them. ------------------ Anyone who advocates the use of violence should be beaten, tortured, and killed (painfully if possible).
I admit it. I enjoy the WNBA. Basketball is basketball. Houston basketball is Houston basketball. Competition is competition. I don't understand why many say the things that they do about the WNBA. So many of the reasons not to like the WNBA, as stated by many, are completely sexist and closed-minded. If you* don't like it, don't watch it. Don't sit here and embarrass yourself trying to convince me to agree with your sexist views. I believe that giving women the same opportunity to make a living from a sport that they love and excell at is awesome. Why do so many people try to take away from these women what they love and enjoy? It makes no sense to me. My 2 cents...... * the term "you" is used in a general sense. No one sexist, I mean person, was intended to be singled out. ------------------ RocketFuel is taking the summer off!
SpaceCity I agree. I like BASKETBALL. I like Watching plays develope Hustle. . . Everything about the game baseball SUX Golf and tennis really are spectator sport WNBA saved my summers. . .from being d*mn near SPORTLESS. [basketball and Football . . and football is lagging these days] Rocket River ------------------
Hey Pole I did go to the IMAX in Galveston. While I agree that it is damn realistic, it is still boring. I've been to another IMAX also and I got bored over there too. I agree with u in that all the shows are generated to showcase the technology. These shows are probably more generated towards kids. Now at one point there was a show about the movie Terminator2. I bet I would have probably enjoyed that. As for the MJ show, I bet that will be boring as hell. I think its a documentary, and damn I hate documentaries. Hey Clutch, like Kagy I agree there should be a Comets forum. That way I dont have to read about it in this forum. Spacecity Im a sexist because I hate the WNBA? Well before your ass starts calling me sexist again let me tell u something. Like I posted in another thread I enjoy tennis alot also. And in tennis I think womens tennis is way better than watching mens tennis. I see your disclaimer at the end of your post about you not pointing fingers at anyone particular. But I'm one of the ones saying how the WNBA sucks, so I guess you could be talking about me. I also cant stand baseball, soccer, and golf. And I dont care if men or women are playing those sports. I still think they are kind of boring. Oh and during the Olympics I watch womens gymnastics much more than mens gymnastics. So I dont think that Im a freakin sexist nor close minded. ------------------ Now introducing the starting lineup for your Houston Rockets: Starting at Center, from Wake Forets TIM DUNCAN...
I like the woman's gymastics better too, but I'm not so sure that doesn't make non-sexist. Oh well, I sleep at night. I think a Comet's forum is a good idea--for several reasons. I know Clutch doesn't have any banners here, and he does this for the "love" of it, but he can still parlay all of this experience and viewership into some good things for his future. A comets forum could increase the hits here, and I think it would be a good political move too. It could also help tie in the SOR movement with more voters. Just my $.02 ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
SpaceCity, you're missing the boat on this one. I am, in an analogous sense, encouraging Clutch to create a "WNBA" in the form of a Comet-specific forum. That way the Comet-related posts don't have to compete for playing time in the Rocket forum. They have their own "league" where people who are interested in them can indulge their interest, and those of us who see them as a completely unsatisfying version of something we enjoy can just ignore them. ------------------ Anyone who advocates the use of violence should be beaten, tortured, and killed (painfully if possible).
Being that I am a sexist , I also think that it's a good idea to have a seperate Comets forum ... if there is a demand for it. I don't think a forum should be created for 'a cause'. Where do you draw the line? Are we going to have one to talk about 'animal rights'? One for the 'homeless'? One for 'special olympics' (that's a sport)? No disrespect Pole, but I hope Clutch will never mix politics with this site. That will take the "pureness" out of this place. [This message has been edited by MoonBus (edited April 26, 2000).]
Comets forum, In the words of Chuck "let me tell you something.....I don't care" ------------------ THE DEAN HAS WRITTEN
I like football a great deal. When Houston gets a new team, I will run to their forum as often as this one. I still don't want a Thunderbears site, though. Why? Because it isn't good football. Same analogy goes for the Comets. But I am all for giving people what they want, so if enough people want a Comets Site, what the hell, I just won't be one of it's members. ------------------ "I would like to thank... everyone... for their contriboootions" Hakeem accepting his MVP award at the 1999-2000 NBA Finals.
