Can we play all the way to a 5th seed? And can Yao make all NBA 3rd team?

Although I'd like to play Minny in the first round, the way we are playing right now, I am thinking that we might be able to finish as a 5th or 6th seed instead of a 7th seed. We are only two games behind Dallas, and 1 1/2 games behind Memphis. We are peaking at the right time.

Also is there a decent chance that Yao might make the all NBA 3rd team by season end? Although he is the 2rd best center in the league, they don't vote really by position......I do hope that he can make it. If he keeps good play on both ends of the floor, good things will happen.

    Your thoughts?

in order to put Yao in 3rd team, they have to put big Ben in the 2nd team, and that is simply wrong.

how about yao ming over ben wallace?

if you look at efficiency they're pretty much the same. and if you look at efficiency per 48 yao's much better.

    Yao Vs Big Ben:
    PPG- Yao 17.5, Wallace 10.0
    RPG- Yao 8.8, Wallace 8.1
    FG%- Yao 53.6, Wallace 43.1
    FT %- Yao 80, Wallace 50
    BPG- Yao 1.8, Wallace 3.1

I'd definetly give it to Yao. Yao's in a much harder conference, and Wallace is really a PF and he is awful on offense.

When Yao made Shaq his b**** 2 out of 3 times this season, he deserves some first/second all-NBA team votes. Wallace on Shaq? Not even close!

that's not entirely true. he's gotten a triple double before with points, rebounds, and blocks. you take over a game like that.

    Big ben - 13.1 Rebounds a game.

Still, Yao hands down should be on the 2nd team.

    That is my point.
Among the big men, they will vote Shaq, TD, KG in the first team.
For the 2nd team, they will probably get J. O'neal. After that, I don't see another big man who deserves to be ahead of Yao even by the standard of these Rox bashers.

It dpends on how much support he can get from his teammates, If they play the rest games like the way they played in todays game 4th quater, he might be only in 3rd game. If he can get touch the ball Like he got in the last weeks game, He will be no question in 2nd team.

right on. we need to pick up 3.5 games and we have the tie breaker against the lakers.

not likely... but if we had avoided some earlier collapses, then we'd really be in position to fight for home court right now.
if we would have won some of those games against the sonics, one of the close ones against the spurs, or the one agains the celts. 1 or 2 games and we'd be right in the thick of it.

but as it is. it's not so bad.

not so fast, we still have one more game against the Lakers and they have a chance to tie the series 2-2.

    J. O'Neal's a 20/10/2.65 guy and 'till Yao gets that kind of # J.O. still better than Yao. though Yao has more potential. Nowitzki the same case.

Your third team will beat up your second team.
