and if so who would you guys prefer? kmart didnt sem like he was the same without kidd but then again i didnt watch them a whole lot. but isnt nene unhappy or a fa?
KMart will be in the third year of a max-type contract. I think it's 6 years at 90 million - backloaded on the latter years. He's just not worth that. I think he's good (albeit overrated) - and the type of PF that the Rox are looking for, but just too expensive. I'll never forget his 3-23 vs. the Spurs.
Yeah Kmart is overrated if you ask me, he isn't worth the money he's gonna earn. Nene, if he could be gotten cheap, would be cool with me but I don't see that happening either.
... and why would Denver be remotely interested in trading either of those guys? They are a big reason they did so well this year. And, if they did, what would we have that would improve them enough to make that trade? One is their starter, and the other provides great depth at a cheap price. Just don't see it, no matter how much we might like having them. I'd love to have Nene ... he'd be great to grow with TMac and Yao. But, seems like a pipe dream to me.
KMart is going to be way too expensive for us, period. As for Nene, he would be an interesting addition. He's got good size and athleticism. I could see him being a Camby/Cato type player w/ a more polished game than Cato. It would be interesting to see what JVG could do w/ Nene. But like Sherlock said, I don't see Denver dealing any of those 2 to us, especially being conference rivals. Denver will be looking for a young, athletic SG to play alongside Melo, something we don't have.
i've always liked nene because of his size, strength and athleticism he can play PF and C. he would really help us out on the boards and on defense. his low post offense is good too but not much perimeter game. regardless i don't think the nuggets would trade him to a team in the same conference. they know what type of player he can be with more minutes but for some reason the nuggets want to keep camby's overpaid ass.
