    Hello Houston, Whaz up?
I have settled in LA for good, and have entirely stopped following Rockets. You need a new coach, just like Toronto.

Anyway, I think it would be very nice if Lakers can get Hakeem and use him in the 4 instead of 5. I think he will fit very nicely here, triangle or no traingle. He has a very nice 18 foot jumper, that is very valueable consider they are going to have zone defence next year. I really don't understand what the deal is with you guys trying to get Cwebb. He is over rated. I think, under new rules, bigmen have to be more like play makers, passers, outside shooters, and strong defenders. CWebb is none of those. He and his buddy Jwuan in Dallas are so overly paid. I will take Dream over CWeb any time, as long as Rudy TomJUNKvitch is not the coach. With Zone defense, can Rudy still call his isolation play all the time next year?
I have been right for the last three years predicting seasons for the Rockets. I will wait til mid summer, but with Rudy T and this fantasy of CWeb, it does not look good.

Considering the Faker$ are already $8.3M over the projected '01 salary cap what's another $10M for Hakeem. If their going to spend that much for a PF, why don't they just spend another $2.5M and sign Webber. Hell, money is no object - they signed Phil Jackass for $10M. LA is one of the best teams money can buy.

    Caveman,
Your name befits you. Olajuwan is not, repeat, not going to the Faker$. Jerry Buss is already pressuring Kupchaik to get under the cap. He adamantly does not want to pay the luxury tax that will be imposed next year. He has publicly said as much.

(Read: Buss is not Cuban. Buss does not have as much cabbage to throw away)

Olajuwan may not be a Rocket, but I can guarantee he will not be a Faker$.

By the way, How could Jordan, Barkley and Olajuwan all go to Washington? The Wiz are still over the cap. The #1 pick guaranteed salary will push them further over the cap and they do not have enough exemtions to sign all three of the greatest. Further, which one is going to take the $1 million exemption and which one will take the $4.5 million exemption?

Washington can't do it all this year.....fact!

    gone like Pam Anderson's virginity.....

    ROCKET!!!

Caveman, I already know you're a moron, but do you even watch basketball? Webber is by far the best big man passer in the league. Whether it be in the low post, high post, wing, etc., he is one of the main reasons the Kings are so accredited for their ball movement. He's great at finding the cutters when up high, and great at kicking out to the three point line when he's down low. And in addition, he has a pretty solid jumper out to 18-20 feet, and is a top defender. And he isn't a playmaker? What other big man, save Kevin Garnett, have you seen grabbing the rebound at one end, and taking it up the floor (ala a point forward, only from the power forward spot) and then scoring themselves or setting up a teammate? I'm not the biggest CWebb supporter on this board. But to say Webber is none of those is incredible. He's all of those.

Believe it or not, I think that b@stard Sabonis is the best passing big man in the league.

What are you smoking? Give me one legitimate reason why Rudy T. is "junk." He's a great coach, knows how to win, and as it was written in a recent article, "just about all the players in the NBA would like to play for Tomjanovich."

At least we know there won't be a player mutiny. [IMG]

    Rocket!!,
I believe that they could all sign for the veterans minimum even with the Wiz over the cap.

Yes, but that seems to go against Hakeem's statements. He's saying he wants market value. Does he really think that his market value is $1M. If he's willing to do that then why would he say that he doesn't think that the Rockets can afford both him and Webber?
