Can we chill out with the hate on the late arriving crowd?

Here's the reality: the crowd is probably working their 8am-5pm jobs, then driving in awful rush hour traffic to their homes in one of many suburbs 30-50 miles away from downtown Houston to change, and then finally driving to Toyota Center in still pretty bad traffic.

Realistically, can we expect these people to get to the game at 7pm?

If we want the game to start with an energetic lower bowl, our games need to start at 8pm. People will then complain that they're leaving the game too late, but there's no perfect solution here.

Houston is not like most other cities, especially not like those where you see crowds get to games on time and is packed at tip-off. They live closer to the stadium and traffic isn't nearly as bad.

I'm sure there's other reasons besides this such as lack of passion, this place being football country, etc. But more than anything, Houston is just a logistical nightmare to get its fans to games in time -- especially if they start at 7pm.

Houston sucks as a basketball city. No excuses. If you live in Katy and Magnolia dont bother buying tickets.

I always thought it was the corporate seats and people not taking advantage of gift tickets. I came to find out it's actually lower bowl people hanging out in the bars by the locker room all game. I even found out some people have seats and boxes they go back and forth from.

So, you're saying Houston fans are idiots that are incapable of planning ahead and taking a change of clothes with them to work? Do you honestly believe other cities don't have suburbs and traffic?

No. Houston does not get a pass. They are the ONLY city where this happens. Houston sucks. A lot.

There's no winning with Houston fans. Game starts at 7 and people will say that they can't get there on time. Game starts at 7:30 and people complain about games ending too late.

There's just not enough 99ers out there to fill the lower bowl

This is no excuse. It just feels like the city doesn't care about the rockets. I watch the rockets with a bunch of non rockets fans a lot of time and they always say the same thing over and over again about the lack of crowd and hca. This has been being said for many years.

That's crazy talk. I live in the Washington, DC area and we have worse traffic than Houston. The Wizards don't have these issues. It's a terrible and inexcusable look to start games. We have to practically bribe the fans with concerts and $1.00 beers just to arrive on time. It worked in game one. In the biggest game of the year the crowd and Rockets failed.
