I'm a huge Astros fan, and usually bias, and probably will always be, but I think this season isn't lost. If I recall correctly, last year they were down like 8 games at the All-Star break, and made their run late in the year. This team is molding to Jimy's new style and will turn it around after the break. This is and always has been a 2nd half team. The thing that I like, even though we are struggling, is that the pitching hasn't been bad, the offense has, I much rather it be that, than the other way around, because there are ways to scrath out runs, not the opposite. Also, I think the Stros WILL start to hit the ball better, and they will start to win game, I think Miller is going to turn this thing around for us. Maybe Hunsicker will make a move to bring in a bat to carry us to the post-season, but this team WILL I repeat WILL find a way to get into the playoffs.
It would certainly be great if they could get some concistency. I haven't given up on the season yet by any means, but it is tough to come back when we are always waiting until the last game of a series to get some runs across. We should have swept the Cards. We had so many more scoring opportunities than they did and just found ways to loose. We need to go up to Chicago and really lay it on them (at least win 2 of the games) and maybe we will start feeling it. Going to the desert next week will be tough. I think we'll be getting Randy and Curt. Ouch.
